  1. Diplo for the enemy. My concern would be that it would become my title. (j/k I hope) Really, though, my diplomatic interests were all internal, I wasn't responsible for setting standings or interactions between corps, even within our own alliance. Orion Guardian had joined our corp, he was the main diplo for FCON, we think he was just getting to know us better, as he'd been in several of the other FCON corps before. FCON were pretty decent folks overall, wish I'd gotten to know more of them during my time with Machiavellian Empire. I never knew why they kept company with Goons, FCON wasn't allowed to do any of the things Goons were encouraged to do, no ganking in highsec, nothing like "Burn Jita" was allowed, their motto is "Don't Be A Dick" - quite the opposite of Goons. Nevertheless, even though blue standings makes it possible to move my stuff safely, I'd still like to join you. I know for a fact that my last corp isn't as cohesive as it was, and I don't mind starting at the bottom and getting to know everyone, I'm not a "role monger" by any means. I have everything I need, and then some. I just want to fly with a good group, maybe learn some new pvp tricks.
  2. Sorry for not being around for the last couple of days, work has been rather hectic. I think I get the next 4 days off though, so I will be back in Eve tomorrow. If a nice big doe deer were a water balloon, my work van was the pin that popped it last night, nothing left but a nice leather sack of deer soup. One of my clients was rather upset, so I started joking around and got her laughing her head off, probably too much, she had a stroke today and had to be air-lifted to Spokane. I hope she's alright, and that it wasn't caused by excessive laughter. It's an example of how my week has been. At least you've had time to go through my API's, hopefully?
  3. I am a man of many words, with not much to say.
  4. Thanks for the warm welcome, I'll try to answer all of your questions as best I can. My favorite sandwich? That's going to be difficult to say, as I am fond of putting just about anything into bread to make it easier to eat at my computer. I think one of the best sandwiches had to be bacon and cream cheese with shredded "fake" crab and thinly sliced onion. Out of all the traditional sandwiches I'd have to choose the reuben. For some reason I like to eat it cold after sitting for a day in the refrigerator, everything seems to share a similar consistency and the flavors blend together nicely. I could go on about sandwiches for a long time, I make some mean burgers too. I've been on hiatus from EVE for about five months. None of my characters were active during that time. I left for a couple of different reasons, the obvious being that I'd have to move to the south and leave Branch, where I feel most at home. I'd still be in the same corp, which was falling apart, our CEO quit playing, and several people that I didn't see eye-to-eye with were now in leadership positions. The new CEO is a great guy though, I'm happy for him. Additionally, I was considered to be the "diplomat" for the corp, which really meant that I was responsible for being the mediator whenever there was drama, and I don't like drama. I might have stuck around and pushed through the move, but I'd lost my job and had absolutely no income whatsoever, paying bills by selling my r/l assets. (Goodbye snowmobile, goodbye motorcycles, goodbye rifles) I was struggling to keep my accounts subbed, as we were being camped like crazy, which was also fun, but making isk was becoming almost impossible during the transition, so I took the opportunity to focus on playing TERA, which my kids also play. Nobody ever quits EVE, I still have high hopes that someday all of my old buddies from the past will show up again eventually. So the reason I came back was because every time I stop playing for any length of time, it leaves a huge void in my life. I've been playing for so long that it's become a part of who I am. Free-to-play EVE? Yes, thanks very much. That has made it impossible to stay away any longer. Even creating new alpha pilots is fun, but I am looking forward to re-subbing my accounts and unleashing their full potential again. Shrikken. He's a strange guy indeed. It was all about the roleplay when I was learning how to play EVE. It's (mostly) worn off now, which is a shame in some ways. RP added another dimension and made everything feel more important, more urgent. That was back in my "Anti-Pirate" days when we were the good guys, trying to eradicate the pirate scum from our neck of the galaxy. It was fun. As abilities go, Shrikken can fly most things, not really a capital pilot, unless it's a Niddy for ratting purposes (which was frowned upon). Sub-caps are ok, I tend to stick to whatever ship of the line is doing the DPS. My least favorite role is scout, followed by logi, although it would be nice to be better at both, I am a bit slow in the head for either. Maybe it's the responsibility - I don't like letting people down. My other toons can be helpful in many ways, Char Actor has a rorqual and max leadership skills, so boosting is his thing. I have my alts in another corp (only my alts, nobody else) which can be handy sometimes. I love to cook. Well, I love to eat, so cooking is a mandatory skill at home. My kids cook for themselves too, and it's nice to see them pull off some dishes that make me wish they'd made it for me. (We all cook our own dinner) One of the favorite things for me to make is venison smokies. So many different kinds of sausages, but those are my favorite. Jerky is another that's high on the list. We make jerky out of any meat we can find. During hunting season, we usually end up with a lot of meat, and trying to make the most of it is a challenge, since we don't have a large freezer. Anything that can be stored outside during the winter makes it easier, so it doesn't go to waste. Besides meat - I'm a sauce guy. I love experimenting with different soups too, and making large amounts so we end up canning and storing quite a bit. I live near the Canadian border in Idaho - about 20 minutes north of Bonner's Ferry, so Pacific Time Zone. I've been gaming since I was around 17, so 1987. I was completely drawn in by the early Infocom text adventures, and probably had the most fun during that era, it being so new to me. Then I bought every game that hit the shelves after that, it became a hobby to collect and beat them all. I was really into the Siera "Quest" games - all the King's Quest, Hero's Quest and Police Quest were fantastic. It wasn't until X-Wing came out that I really "fell in love" with a specific game, though. I know Tie Fighter was a better game, but the nostalgia is there for my X-wing. Of course, I've been playing games ever since - Doom was another milestone that I fondly recall. When consoles and handhelds came out I was stuck on those for many years as well. Panzer Dragoon on the Saturn was mind-blowing at the time, and Solar Eclipse was almost impossible to beat, but somehow I managed to do it. My first MMO that hooked me in was Ultima Online. I was completely addicted to that game for six or seven years. Then when E&B came out, I got into the beta and became a "Founder" and got to sport the "FF" logo on my wings. That's a sad story so I'll skip to WoW, which took another seven years of my life from me. There have been many games along the way - I'm sure you know the ones, so I won't list them all here. Now I like to run around in GTAV on the PS4 with 5 stars and see how long I can make it. Back to EVE, I've tried my hand at many types of income, and found that I'm not all that great at production after all. I may turn those skills into an injector if I need the isk, or I may try again in the future. I can crank out some decent PI if the corp needs it, but I don't consider it to be great income. Ratting is probably the best for isk, but it's almost as boring as mining, which brings me to mining - the most boring of all, but I can't seem to stop doing it for some reason, it's relaxing. My best (and worst) Eve story is about the time our alliance (NMTZ) was besieged in our wormhole twice in a row, by "The Last Chancers" and then "Transmission Lost" - to the tune of a 10 billion isk ransoms and the loss of most of our pilots, followed by the untimely death of our beloved alliance. After that happened, one of the last members, Smagd, released all of the capitals and other valuable assets so they could be destroyed properly by the new owners. http://eve-search.com/thread/405635-1/page/1#5 It was a sad, yet exciting time. I'd tell the tale of how we lost Branch, but I'm sure you already know that story I have stories of my RP days, fighting the pirates in Molden Heath, but they really just amount to more small gang lowsec roaming. Or my times living in lowsec with FIGL, or my 2 months with Dirt Nap Squad, which wasn't as great as I thought it would be. I learned about DNS while on my EVE University alt, DNS Black hosted a class and took a bunch of us noobs out for some BLOPS training. The entire thing was recorded and is a fun listen if you have 3 hours to waste. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3pI7nl7fNg I have all of my chat logs from back in the day, there are some interesting conversations, but probably only nostalgic for those involved at the time. I also have 3 editions of "BURN" magazine that NMTZ published back in 2007 in .pdf form if anyone is interested in old (one-sided) history from the war against INFOD. Best use of TiDi in R/L = The hot water lasts forever when you take a shower. Alcohol stays in your bloodstream for what seems like forever. A good meal takes a year to finish, each satisfying bite could linger in your mouth for hours or days. Firefly would have lasted a whole lot longer on the air, which brings us to TV shows... I don't get television at my house, no cable, no satellite, nothing. However, we do have a Roku and the Internet, so we watch shows on YouTube and Putlocker (poor putlocker). I've binge-watched just about everything, and feel as though I'm running out of material as a result. So, I've been re-watching lots of shows lately, which is better than watching pure garbage just because I haven't seen it yet. One of the shows I want to re-watch is "The Love Boat" - for old times sake, and it's one that my kids haven't been introduced to yet. I've tried to get them acquainted with some of the old shows from the past - "Fantasy Island", "Gilligan's Island", "Brady Bunch", etc. They like "Good Times" and "What's Happening" - as well as "Sanford and Son" and "The Jeffersons". Archie Bunker actually helped them to understand why I yell at them so often. (J/K) I hope I've covered most of your questions sufficiently. If there's anything else, let me know. (If you want to get me started again, up to you)
  5. Hi folks, My name's Dave, I'm turning 47 on the 22nd of this month. (it's only a coincidence that 47 out of 50 of my hairs have either fallen out or gone gray) I have 3 teenagers left at home, 2 are seniors in high school and one starts high school next year. Shrikken is my main toon in EVE, and I have several others that can be activated if necessary. Fortunately, they are all logged in various systems in Branch, with all assets intact. I don't have strong ties to anyone in my previous corp, even though I feel as though I helped a ton in making it what it was before I left, but the CEO I knew is gone now, and I saw that only one or two members that I got along with are left intact. I'd rather make new friends where I live than firesale everything and move across the universe just to end up having to make new friends again anyway. I like PvP and PvE equally, depending on the FC of course (I'm not a pvp master or a manufacturing wizard, but I can make do in most cases) I don't play for my KB ranking, or to be a leader over other pilots, I'm perfectly happy as a support personnel type. I will always try to be helpful and courteous because it's all about the friendship. Besides EVE, I've played almost every other MMO that's worth playing, and quite a few that weren't. Ultima Online for 6 years, WoW for 7 - E&B from the start to the horrible end. I dabbled in most of the others too. I've been gaming since 1987, so I've played my fair share of games, PC, console and hand-held (which one is the virtual boy, table top?) I don't own an Xbox One, having a PS4 instead, I'll get the Xbox One at a pawn shop someday at a price I won't be able to refuse. If there's anything I left out that you feel is important, feel free to ask me here or in-game if it's too personal for public forums, I can be very discrete Cheers, Shrikken
