I don't think the joking nature was the problem, I think it was the brevity of it combined with the words "I am only doing this because I have to". It's not that hard to construct one paragraph that says who you are, your gaming experience and what you like to do outside of games, is it? I think that's all people were looking for, with their comments. It's sometimes hard for those of us who have been around for a while to get to know all the new applicants if you don't include more information, because not everyone is going to have the same play times, and might not be able to get to know you in game. Anyhow, welcome to the boards!

Notice how the women are wearing pants in a photo op though, this never would have happened years ago. Pants were actually BANNED for women previously, that was lifted earlier this summer. Cellphone usage is also going up and allowed in far more areas than before...it will be interesting to see what happens moving forward.

It's likely he will loosen things up (compared to his dad), but I don't doubt people are still terrified, and will be for some time.
