  1. Here's a log you requested - healing HoF LFR Part 2 as holy. If you want a few more parses, let me know. Oh, and Wind Lord is dumb when people leave you in amber for ages. http://www.worldoflogs.com/guilds/254051/ I hope I did this uploading of logs right.... I've never done it before.
  2. 1. I have a cat named Della. Named after the secretary from the old b&w television show Perry Mason. 2. I like to dance in-game, and I will dance IRL when intoxicated. 3. Guild social events are fun! Especially the unplanned ones. The other night, my guildies and I were doing challenge modes, and we got involved in a rather explicit conversation about, er, certain adult activities. It was fun and completely unplanned. (Needless to say, challenge modes ended early.) My current guild is full of dirty minds, lol. 4. Not fluently. I took Spanish in high school, and German in college. I'd like to pick Spanish back up and try to become fluent eventually. 5. Does Disney-Pixar count? If so, Finding Nemo. If not, The Fox and the Hound. I cry every time. 6. Fish are cute! Well, except those flesh-eating ones... 7. I have two plaid shirts that I love to death. They're super comfy. One is blue and black plaid, and the other is purple and black plaid. 8. Any shade of blue. 9. MMO-wise, I used to play SWTOR and Rift; I've been thinking about getting into Guild Wars 2, but most people I know have already grown bored of it. Currently, I play games on Steam in my spare time with guildies. The last game we played together was Left 4 Dead 2. I also play a lot of RPGs, like the Elder Scrolls games, Star Wars: KOTOR 1/2, Mass Effect 1/2, etc. 10. Hmm. Tough question. A fox. I love their bushy tails and adorable face. I'm also an anime fan, if that gives an indication of why.
  3. No need to apologize. Recruiting quality raiders isn't an easy task. It's necessary to see if they can hold their own. Hmm. I suppose I assumed that I wouldn't get to be main specced as discipline because of all of the talk about holy and dpsing. My mistake? (I hope! ) I do agree that holy isn't as fun as disc. I am somewhat worried about the upcoming patch's changes to disc, but we shall see how that pans out in the end; you never know what it will look like from PTR to live. I'm hoping it will make disc even more fun and varying in the end (stacking crit for DA on PoH, using PW:S more, etc.) I believe they're changing something with weakened soul, as well.
  4. I wouldn't say I'm behind the curve, at least in the way you're stating through example. Although, I didn't raid in T11 (I had educational obligations that came first, so I had to step down from raiding during that time), I raided in the other tiers, and I did use Atonement quite a lot then. The major detriment at that time was its range of heals. For 25 man, this wasn't a huge concern, since there are naturally more melee/tanks to receive the heals. For 10 man, however, atonement healing was often not as effective (particularly if a raid is light on melee). Of course, there are always exceptions, and there are always fights where atonement shines, which you mentioned. (Sadly, I didn't get to experience most of those fights at the time, or for FL, I had to dps most that you mentioned.) Anyway, I don't want you to think that I have never used atonement well or understood its strengths. Perhaps I didn't make myself clear in discussing my uses of atonement. I am focusing on MoP's changes to atonement healing in conjunction with the general changes to discipline priests during this expansion. Anyway, I wouldn't be healing as discipline if I were accepted, but I wanted to make things clear, since it seems like it is assumed that I know naught of atonement healing since its conception--which isn't true at all. Something to keep in mind is that the beauty of discipline healing is that there are so many different ways to approach it and utilize its tools. I'm not guilty of completely ignoring an aspect of the specialization; I've just been experimenting with approach. If someone is stuck in their ways and unwilling to try new things or accept other viewpoints while raiding, he or she wouldn't be of much value to their raid group.
  5. It's interesting that you should pinpoint a lack of Atonement healing, as I've recently reforged for a more atonement-focused play style. Since my current raid group has been experiencing breakdown and scheduling problems in the recent weeks, most of the current logs are not the best. (In my mind, it's hard to enjoy raiding and perform at optimal capacity when it's painfully obvious that almost half of your team doesn't even want to be there.) Anyway, most of my earlier logs are not of atonement-focused healing, so if you're looking for more atonement healing there, it wouldn't be as strong as you would probably like. Up until recently, I used atonement healing more so on downtime/light healing, encounters with dps checks, and to get my +healing buff. I had a mastery-focused build, and a few weeks ago, I did some reforging and rethinking following some information I'd seen about the true strength that atonement healing can offer. So, yes, I didn't give atonement healing its proper credit, but I've been trying to correct that flaw in my thinking. Making that change is easy enough--more smiting, HF, and penancing. Even though I've been healing raids for years, there's always something new to learn, and I'm more than willing to try.
  6. I checked through World of Logs, but apparently, the reports expire after a certain amount of time has passed. I'll record an LFR run for you either tonight or tomorrow and post a link here. As for the interview, I will be available any time Saturday or Sunday afternoon; just let me know what works best for you.
  7. Hello, feral druid. Yay! Lady lady pandas are the best! Hi there! *waves*
  8. I've done main spec holy in the past. In fact, at the beginning of the expansion, I had to switch from disc to holy because disc was underperforming. After Blizzard applied buffs to the class, I switched back to my beloved discipline spec. I do enjoy holy, though, and I'm willing to switch to holy as a main spec. In the past, I've done shadow out of necessity. I happened to be the only healer out of my ten man that was willing to learn and utilize a damage dealing spec. I would not have a problem maintaining this flexibility, but I do want to emphasize that healing is my passion in the game. That doesn't mean that I won't dps, of course, but when given the opportunity, I choose a healing role. In regard to others from my raid team that are looking for other guilds... the enhancement shaman and affliction warlock in my group are actively pursuing a new guild and server change. Sadly those are not the classes you are looking for. My apologies, sometimes the simplest things are easiest forgotten... and an armory link should be a no-brainer. Silly me! I see Midri provided a link, though. Thanks!
  9. I found your guild through WoWProgress when I searched for guilds that were recruiting healing priests. I saw that your priority for priests was "medium," so I assume you don't have an immediate need for the class, but I figure I'd give it a shot, anyway. Name: Sylviette Gender/Age: Female, 24 Class and Specialization: Priest. Discipline (main spec), Shadow (offspec). Holy is my preferred offspec, but out of necessity, I changed my offspec from Holy to Shadow at the beginning of the raid tier in order to DPS fights requiring only two healers in the ten man setting. Alts: Sylera (Windwalker Monk), Sylvietta (Disc/Shadow priest)--Yes, a second priest... I love them! Server: Moonrunner (Horde) Guild History: I'm currently in Lethal Reunion. I've been in the guild since 2010. Before LR, I was in a guild called Overdose for several months, but it disbanded due to leadership problems, and then it was essentially reformed as Lethal Reunion. Prior to Overdose, I had applied and was accepted in the now-defunct Words Under My Name, but most of my friends went to Overdose instead, so a few days later, I moved to Overdose. Prior to that, I was in Poached Innocence, which is where my love for raiding began. (Yay Ulduar!) It's also the reason why I eventually left the guild, since it was rather casual. Reason for Leaving: The ten man group that I was a part of had six people who were focused on progression and four people that made it quite obvious that they did not care about progression or raiding in general anymore. This lead to a scism in the group, and so the raid leader and other five of us decided to disband instead of continuing to raid with several people who were unwilling to compromise. Myself and a couple others have decided to look elsewhere for a progression-centered guild. Raid Progress: 6/6(H) MSV, 3/6(H) HoF 4/4(N) ToES. Before the group disbanded, we were working on heroic Lei Shi. I've been doing ten man raiding since Cataclysm. During ICC, I did both ten and 25 man raiding, so I do have some experience with 25 mans (although rather outdated, I admit.) What I'm Looking For: I am searching for a raiding environment that is dedicated, yet familial at its core. By this, I mean that I want a guild that get work done but also have fun and feel "at home" in the guild. In perusing the website and some of the feedback on some of the other applications, SoH seems like a good match. Raiding Tools: I have a working headset and microphone. I also have both Mumble and Ventrilo installed, and I've used both in the past. I noticed on your guild information on World of Logs that you use Mumble. Yay! I use a Logitech G600 for keybinding and such. Professions/Talent Choices/Gear Enhancements: I have maxxed Tailoring and Enchanting, and I keep mats on me at all times, so that I can enchant gear for myself and my raid members when we acquire new gear. For Discipline spec as of right now, I have Void Tendrils, Body and Soul, Mindbender, Desperate Prayer, Power Infusion, and Cascade. I have Void Shift and Desperate Prayer macroed together. Sometimes I choose Angelic Bulwark instead of Desperate Prayer, but while I was working on heroic Lei Shi (and while I'm currently working on Challenge Modes), I've found that the Void Shift/Desperate Prayer macro can make quite a difference in clutch situations. For Reforging, I've been playing around with stat weights recently, changing from pure mastery to greater haste/crit. I've been reading on MMO-Champion's Priest forum, as well as Battle.net's forums, about different stat weights based on 10/25 and assignment focuses. I've been testing out various things lately in light of this information. World of Logs: http://worldoflogs.com/guilds/49085/ Addons: Deadly Boss Mods, Grid, Clique, TidyPlates, GTFO, HaloPro, Recount If you want any additional information, I would be glad to add it. Thanks!
