I loved the app, although I will tell you that your late 20's are prime years! I certainly wouldn't view them as any sort of sunset.

It turns out that we'd very much like to get a Blood DK in place for the next tier, though how we specifically transition during the home stretch of this tier is another matter. I think it would require some flexibility on your part in terms of playing DPS on progression fights until we are more comfortable. Meanwhile our bear would transition to kitty.

You made an extremely bold claim, that "Simply put, I will come in and hit the ground running with zero training, teaching, or hand-holding required." I hope those are words you can stand behind; I'm tempted to offer you a trial just to show that you've underestimated the task in front of you. That said, confidence is sexy in a tank.

Before we can go further, your logs will need to be scrutinized. I hope you picked some good ones. I will summon the Chainsaw and we'll see what he thinks.

I believe our tanks would agree.

Yes.

To expand: I came from a pretty casual 10m background and was told during my interview and application process that the entire cooldown paradigm is completely different in 25s. I believed what I was told, naturally, but I didn't fully grasp how delicate the balance is. I was told that the primary difference is that, in 10s, you use CDs to mitigate periods of high damage during which your life is at stake. Whereas in 25s, your life is at stake whenever you do not have a CD active. I'd say it's pretty accurate, but doesn't fully encompass the fact that you have to know and rotate not only your own CDs, but also all of the externals that are available to you, as well as knowing how many can be afforded to you and still leave enough for your tank friend. That change in balance has been one of the most interesting and challenging things I've had to adapt to going from a 10m background to a 25. Not to mention all of the other pressures of 25 raiding.

This leads me to a question: given that you can be a large factor in my survival as a tank, how would you go about this as a DK without putting yourself in excessive danger?

You rang?

Whats up Cryo, thank for the app, it's a solid one.

I will delv in to your logs post haste, but i have a few things off the top

Please note that I'm currently gemmed and enchanted for 10-man raids. My gearing for 25-man survival would be somewhat different.

How so?

I also change my spec and glyphs on pretty much every fight. I'm happy to talk about my strategy on any of the current fights.

Please elaborate on some of the more crucial switches in your opinion.

What advantages do you feel a DK has compared to other tanking classes?

Where are the holes in the DK tanking toolkit?

What class do you prefer to partner with whilst tanking?

If you made the switch from Alliance what race would you pick for your (improved) DK?
