About South of Heaven:

SoH was founded in EQ2, over four years ago. We have enjoyed stable leadership, a drama-free atmosphere and a successful track record ever since. Most of our members are adults with jobs and families. But we tend to be very avid players. One of the great things about this guild is the balance we have achieved between a very active playstyle and a respect for our members as people, with lives outside the game. Recently, we built a highly respected PvP guild in Warhammer Online, where our membershp grew considerably. Our Aion chapter has had us braving the perils of Atreia since launch.

How to join:

One thing you will not see from our guild is recruitment spam. We believe in attracting high quality membership by earning a solid reputation. Our vets will keep their eyes open for players that fit our profile. And we are always open to those who take the initiative and approach us. If you are interested in joining SoH, the best things to do are: (1) register for these boards and post an introduction, and (2) group with us in-game.

But where is the application???

We don't use 'em. There are many things that distinguish this guild from others you have joined in the past. One is that we are not particularly interested in your character's level, what quests he has completed, or what gear he has. We think that the premise of selecting membership based on how someone fills out a form is a bit silly, to be honest.

So does that mean you just take anyone?

Not at all. We are highly selective about whom we accept to membership. If you reach out to us here, and in-game, you will be invited to the guild as a recruit. This is essentially a trial period. It is a chance for you to get to know us, and for us to get to know you. If we do not believe there is a good fit, there will be no hard feelings, but we will not accept you to member. This trial period typically lasts 2 to 4 weeks.

OK, then what do I post in my introduction?

That's up to you. ;)

What are your goals in AION?

We met the launch with an established guild comprised of veteran members, who have been playing for at least a year with the guild, prior to AION. This is in fact the largest and most experienced crew we have ever had on day-one of launch. Our vets have called for a return to our small-guild roots. So, membership will be expected to take individual initiative and, most importantly, relax and have fun. Our target roster is 2 to 3 balanced teams' of active players.

Our current goals are to: (a) achieve an active, balanced roster, (b) progress our people thru endgame gear, © maintain a competitive ranking on our server. How are we doing? We're currently rebuilding our roster, but our members are active. We're continuing to bring recruits in selectively, to better balance our teams. We have active players ranging from 40 to 50, with the majority of activity in the 50+ range. We are rank 12 on the server as of 10/15/10.

Level Requirement by Class

  • Sorcerer 45+
  • Spiritmaster 45+
  • Chanter 45+
  • Cleric 45+

Note:

  • We do make exceptions for exceptional applicants. If your character and level don't match our current openings, but you feel strongly that SoH is the right home for you, please post an application and tell us why. At the very least, you may make some new friends.
