  1. We're extending our lockout on Tuesday in attempt to close out the Tier. Due to the Holiday week ('MURIKA) we will not be raiding on Wednesday (many members travelling) and Thursday (festivities). I'm sure that we will re-engage recruitment/applications after the festivities have died down and we have a fresh lockout to work with. We really appreciate your patience and continued interest, that goes a long way with us and is quite impressive if I do say so myself.

    Cheers.

  2. That's great to hear Asz!

While I'm sure Ashin would be interested in reopening your application, we're currently not accepting any new applicants until we have killed Lei Shen.

Here's a quote from Ashin on another applicant's thread:

It's understandable. We are very tough on applicants and we're also not accepting any new applicant until we defeat Lei Shen. Not everyone wants to stick around for that, which is perfectly legit.

I'm sure that if you're patient, we can work something out :)

  3. Hi Prudance, I'm Raer, and I play a Rogue in South of Heaven 25 man raids. I'm going to take some time to go over your app and logs, but it's getting late so I'll delve deeper tomorrow and get back with some specific and detailed analyses. Thanks for your interest in us!

Speaking of which, what about SoH drew you in? Why us, over say, Drow or Peachy Keen?

  4. Hi Daed, I'm Raer, and I play a Rogue in South of Heaven 25 man raids.

I took some time to look over your character and logs, specifically the ones you linked.

Looking at your character I see that you take Leeching Poison. Can you explain your logic in choosing this over Elusiveness? I'm also noticing that you're grossly over hit cap (a common problem around your gear level) and that you don't expertise cap. I'll just quote myself to another applicant on not exp capping in favor of theoretical dps gains:

So say you're down to the wire; the tank is dead, the raid is dying, the boss is at >1%. You're the last one left alive, all survival CDs just dropped, you have time for 1 ability to hit (non white hits) that would kill the boss and save the day. But wait, you're not hit capped and the immensely low chance to miss happens. You die, the boss resets. If you were hit capped you would have killed it, possibly getting Realm First *insert fancy title/bossname*

I realize this is talking about hit, but the same applies for expertise, to an extent.

I see that you're using Rune of Re-Origination. Do you know the theorycrafting behind that particular item? It's not a very good trinket for Rogues at all. Personally I would use a 2/2 Relic of Xuen or even the god-awful Agi/Crit trinket from ToES over it.

Ashin already noted the unfortunate series of event on Jin'Rohk, so moving along..

On more than one occasion I've noticed that you use Ambush as your opener as opposed to Mutilate. Since the buff to Dispatch the chance for Mutilate to generate more damage via Blindside is more valuable than Ambushs slightly higher base damage. Looking at the first 10 seconds of every encounter: it took you 7-10 seconds to apply Slice and Dice, could you go over your opener sequence?

I can't really base much off of Ji-Kun logs, as logs are unreliable unless you never leave the platform or are the person recording the logs.

I look forward to your reply!

    Cheers, Raer

  5. *hit cap debate*

My thoughts on this: So say you're down to the wire; the tank is dead, the raid is dying, the boss is at >1%.

You can argue all you want against the theoretical chance to miss might not EVER happen, but if there's one thing I've learned in life, it's that Murphy's Law is a constant and will bite you in the ass.

That being said, I hope you're not using Ask Mr Robot over Shadowcraft 203%20bulgy-eyes.png

  6. I've done well with both builds. Mastery > Haste felt more "steady", but Haste > Mastery felt smoother. I definitely have higher uptimes on Envenom with Haste, but consequently lower poison damage compared to someone with more Mastery. Typically when I get a new piece of gear I run Simcraft and Shadowcraft to see the changes and differences in opinion. So far Haste sims higher and in actuality seems better, but it really depends on your own stats/gear.

Overall, I'd say that Haste > Mastery is a bit more RNG and not as reliable. Some pulls it's great, others not so much. I just swapped back to it from being Mastery > Haste for further testing.
