I played it for a while in the technical Alpha, haven't touched it in a month or two though. Loved playing Tassadar before they nerfed him (rightfully).

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! (and hopefully this time for keeps)

My name is Dan and I'm applying for membership in South of Heaven. I was a provisional member back around the time Guild Wars 2 launched but my work responsibilities exploded on me and I was not able to dedicate the time required for the guild. With the upcoming holiday period, I believe I should be better able to do that, and in general I don't expect there to be an explosion quite like that again for some time.

As far as the in-game details go, my 'main' is a L80 Sylvari Thief named Valcrist, and I'm in the process of leveling my alt, a Sylvari Mesmer (apparently I like Sylvari?). I've run dungeons with some of you in the past, and play actively with Hatius and Bim due to us being RL friends. I'm also friends with two other incoming recruits - PhaseVIII and Dropship. I do mostly PvE, but have recently been trying out PvP to test builds and find that I love it and am apparently halfway decent at it.

I'm a West Coaster, so you'll usually find me on later in the day, especially by merit of working a relative 9-5. In the daytime, I'm a Program Manager for Microsoft. I work on Windows in the User Experience team, so if you don't like the new Windows 8 UI I'm the perfect person to yell at

Other than that, I enjoy mixology but don't actually drink that much, I'm an active player of games (with a particular focus on League of Legends lately), and I have two kittens named Arya and Artemis. I also enjoy reading and other nerdly pursuits. If you haven't yet, and like fantasy, I strongly recommend The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. It's amazing.

Howdy! Vesper pointed me your way and strongly recommended that I sign up for my time playing Guild Wars 2. I'll confess I don't do the guild scene all that much, though that's a product of rarely playing MMOs and not having lots of free time. However, after perusing your TOS, it looks like you guys have a great attitude and one that fits quite well for me. I played in the first Beta weekend with Vesper in his guild (Two Scoops of Dangerous), and played Guild Wars 1 with him way back in the day. I recently picked it back up in a foolish attempt to hit 30/50, but it's becoming rapidly clear to me that I won't have the time to do that.

Outside of GW2 I generally play a lot of League of Legends (Peak Elo 1700 in S1), CS:GO, and whatever else strikes my fancy. I'm a fan of beta and alpha testing in particular, being in a few of each right now (just got into Smite's closed beta and War of the Roses' closed alpha today!). I used to play quite competitively in CS 1.3-1.5 and SC, but that was a long time ago - finishing college and getting a full time job sorta killed a lot of that.

Not much to say about GW2 itself right now...I've had the most fun as a Thief though I played an Elementalist primary in GW1 and generally trend toward nukers. I also don't usually run too many different concurrent characters, but that might change here. I can dump my character names once I have the chance to log in and remember who I named what! Chances are you can find me wherever Vesper is, since he's still showing me the ropes for GW1/2.
