  1. Just FYI guys... Tilly and I will be limited by the number of currently working outlets in the house until we can get some fixage going on, hopefully tomorrow, but maybe not before the middle of the week or so; we'll just have to see how things go. Unsure what's wrong but we've been able to hook the fridge and freezer back up at least, and one computer. We don't dare try more than that right now.

  2. I think the situation will eventually take care of itself, but while things are still getting up and running it might just be a bit too much. One small guild mission pays 400k to the guild, which is enough for 13 people for one day if we use the monthly contracts. That's sustainable if we do a mission every day or every other day, but if only 3-4 people are doing it, that's a lot of energy to use (I'm glad I had 51 when I logged on last night) since we can't do the combat ones yet.

  3. So I'm actually looking at getting placed into this thing, but I need to acquire at least Li-Ming and Rehgar before I do. The teams are picked draft-style, and if I end up randomly selected as the first pick and I don't have at least one of the top 3 heroes in the game our team will suffer.

I've been watching a few vids on HotS and most of the heroes I like the best are actually very playable within the meta right now, which is what finally got me to want to start. I just thought I'd throw this out there in case anyone else was interested too.

Clarification: Hero League is solo- or duo-queue only; there's a separate game type for queueing as a full team.

  4. We did our first guild mission last night, one of the small Gathering ones that cost 10k to start. Takes four people about ... 45-50 minutes? to complete, and got the guild 400k silver on completion. If we can knock out 2 or 3 of those each week we'll probably be set.

It'll be easier once we're max level and can do the mob killing quests, too.

  5. That seems so odd to me! I've easily spent most of my time in game killing shit. :p Being given the option to spam one button to blow through any quest dialog you want and the ability to skip all cutscenes with Esc seems pretty reasonable. You're even possessed by the main story NPC so it's with you always! (Hey, check out these teeth! :D) The dialog itself and the voice-overs are pretty bad, though; their localization efforts feel cursory. Seems to be par for the course with these Korean MMOs.

So far I still like the combat system. The main reservation I have is that it's still an ARPG-MMO, and I've not had much success staying interested in them in the past. We'll see!

Saturday post. :3 (not sure why my quote box says 2/28)

I've decided to main the tamer. I've heard that they're not great right now but I don't care about that so much. If the scope of things-to-do in this game really is on a level with Skyrim (I don't dare to say Eve! ;P ) then I'm sure I'll be making other characters anyway.

  7. Depends on which pre-order pack you go with; they all have different headstarts (sigh, MMOs, y u do dis).

I'm probably going to be fairly slow since I might be busy finishing establishing my raid-readiness in FF, but spring break happens very soon afterward.

  8. Oh man, good to see another WoW PvP fan! I've only been up to 1700 in 3s and RBGs; I never did get into a team with a consistent schedule except for a few months when we were raiding in MoP.

Totally agree with you that 5-7 days a week is not worth it. We (SoH) had a 3-day schedule with an occasional 4th day in WoW, and any more than that would have been pretty rough. I'm perfectly happy with how we did, too!

    Welcome. :3
