  1. DAoC always makes me feel nostalgic, but imo on a DAoC community server you will probably find a lot of group vs. group enthusiasts, and no small number of those will be jerks about it. On the other hand, they might be a bit more RvR savvy than the average crowd. I think it really depends on how many of these DAoC guilds were really just 8-man gank squads and how many actually participated in real RvR.

  2. Interestingly enough, if your assumptions about the West servers following the same times are correct, East would be a better choice for me.

The 6pm MST start time an East server would provide is kind of a squeeze for me, but it does last for two hours. On the other hand, the assumed time for the West servers would make the later window last til 1am MST, which would not allow me to function properly the next day at work after too many nights.

  3. I'm a big believer in coincidence. Chaos. Laws of phyics ruling everything and nothing being controlled by anything but the forces that occur naturally.

That said, Pook's good performance in WAR seems to me to be a function of the particular configuration of atoms in her computer hardware, and the continuing dichotomy of Pook's and Ashin's game performance experiences is really funny to me right now.

[Confession: I have had a good portion of a bottle of rum, and the amount of time it took me to put this post together was astronomical.]

  4. I'm glad that both sides are very cool. It would seem that that, at least, won't draw the masses away from Elyos and overpopulate Asmo. It's probably a small thing to most people, though, so I'm not sure what impact it would have large-scale.

  5. When no one (or LFG) is on I will be crafting. IN fact to me craftng in this game is as fun as PvEing so I see myself gettng very high very fast.

I've felt that way about every game except WoW so I imagine I'll be the same way. I'm definitely going Armorsmith, and I've largely settled on Cooking for my second trade. Maybe now is the time for a crafting poll so we can see more easily how many of what we have, and who will be doing them?

  6. Very small and biased! This is kind of an example of what we have been ripping on in the off topic thread ;)

Tell us nothing, like every other piece of data that doesn't come from NCSoft themselves. I saw the same thing in WoW and in WAR, where Blizzard never told us the numbers and Mythic only did when it looked like the rumors were threatening the game itself. And remember, Monolith ended up being the worst at 54% vs. 46%.

  7. Oh we've taken our healing corps for granted before. ;) When we moved to Dark Crag our t2 WB's had holy craploads of healers, and we thought we had too many. In the end, there weren't enough dedicated healers to support the DoK melee healing which pushed the DoK's toward heal spec to cover the role, thus making our WB's less effective in the end.

If you feel the best with a healer, you should definitely make one. The classes people are playing WILL shift around=)

  8. I'll be skipping OB too. I played betas of some kind for every mmo I've done more than dabbled in, and I never feel like I've gained from doing it. See you guys at launch!

  9. Gravey and I are hosting some fantasy football all-manly night thing tonight.

And neither of you wanted to join the SoH league? /sniff :(
