  1. Wish I could give my beta to someone who'd use it... I've had time for all of an hour of play since it came back up like 2 weeks ago =/

Apparently they're quick to ban full beta accounts that are shared.

Yeah, I've totally been jonez'n to play, and usually I have a LOT of daytime ability at work to do so...But I didn't get lucky enough to earn a spot. I don't think its worth it to risk getting banned though. Apart from a bunch of "Account already in Use" triggers, i'm not sure how they would determine "shared". Multiple IP Use are common enough. Still, tempting fate when you are planning to play at release is a bit too much of a risk IMO. LOL

  2. My brother got a beta invite for this weekend as well...I have yet to get one, even though I have been registered on the site since 09

He said it was pretty awesome, and while the gameplay is great it isn't revolutionary (didn't really think it would be) the story and flashpoints are really interesting and seem to be very different for each class.

    *Edit*

I came back from lunch and found a beta invite waiting for me :D

WOOT WOOT! Be sure to let us know what you think of it

  3. So if you can live with the by the Play-by-Play in this video, and the fact that he got the Advanced Class wrong (It's the Jedi Sentinel, not the Guardian), here is a nice 18 minute gameplay video of "Huttball", a Monsterball type Warzone where you try to pass/run the ball to the "endzone" to score more points then the other team. Typical instance battleground play, but it looks fun. I would certainly like to see more of the Open World PvP Lakes, Command Bases, etc.

  4. Troof!

I think maybe Muffin thought I wanted an actual chapter forum...when all I want is for it to be in "Other Games" so we can have sub forums and figure out classes and all that! BUT HE IS BEING MEAN TO ME.

That is why I asked If I could invite other SoH'ers over to Sacrifice's site. Once I saw that SoH was not going to have an official chapter, I figured there might be a few who were still interested like I am. I'm not planning on going anywhere or recruiting players for future games, This was just a game I was interested in playing and people here were not, so we relaunched our old guild for it. Anyone is welcome to head over to the site and join in the conversations. We have videos, articles, class forums, etc. Even if you just feel like having a place to chat about the game but want to venture out on your own in it, you are still more then welcome. :) Ok, that's my last mention of invites, i'm already feeling like a player siphon. LOL

  5. The unique class story-lines, unique companions per class, etc, really make the idea of multiple characters so much more entertaining. It's one of the biggest reasons we have decided that a having a presence of the guild on both factions is so important. Normally I would shy away from something like that because in the end people really get split up, but I know that in this case people are really going to want to try out the different stories. I don't really WANT a BH, but how can you not want to find out how the Jawa Blitz story goes?? He was in the companion video the other day...he rocked... lol. I'm pretty sure I heard you can have characters in both factions on the same server...but they need to be in different guilds.

Was hoping for a November release, but i have to get a new PC anyway, so the later release can only help. lol. What are you thinking on early access? Thr or Fri the 15th or 16th was my thoughts.. I can't see them doing a whole week.

  6. They have updated the guild system to allow us to send Guild Invite emails out. So if anyone wants to join up, but have been too busy to get there and do so, just PM an email address and I'll shoot one out to you. Also I hear that closed Beta testers were just notified last Saturday that they could start testing again, so I would expect a new batch of Beta Weekends to be coming soon!

  7. I think the BETA email is simply notification. The BETA itself is controlled by the system turning access on to your account. So unless you plan on sharing your account I do not think you can "pass it on", like you can with a code. That is how I understood it anyway. :)

  8. Looks like BETA weekends start this coming one (Sept 2nd) From the sound of things they are going to send out mass invites and put these people on a separate server (then the full running BETA). After the weekend, it shuts down and they re-invite the next weekend. If I would have to guess, probably a server wipe in-between each weekend. It does not sound like if you get in one that you are guaranteed to be in the next. Its a whole new invite.

Last week at PAX Bioware officially announced world PvP Lakes and showed some videos of base attacks, and talked of destroying them. Looked and sounded very WARHAMMER-like.

  9. I will be playing, that's for sure. I will certainly join your guild Traxx, be nice to play a MMO with you again. What are September beata days? I have not heard anything about that, altho I have not gotten a beta invite either.

Awesome! Agreed, it's going to be a lot of fun.

They are doing mass BETA tests in September on the weekends. They said anyone who applied for testing will probably get in. :)

They may push it back, but they said certainly this fall, and before the Early startup.

  10. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have about 15-20 people gearing up for SW:TOR. This is a game I've been waiting a number of years for. Almost all of us have pre-ordered already and we are hoping to be ready for September BETA weekends.

Before joining SoH, we had a group of family and friends who played MMO's and created a guild called Sacrifice, which we used in Warhammer (as well as others) before deciding to merge into SoH.

I talked with Ashin and giving the fact that SoH will not have an official presence in SW:TOR, I offered to extend invites for anyone who was looking for a group to play with.

Based on initial numbers of guild statistics, we have decided to play the republic as they are clearly going to be the underdog group. We are currently set for PvP Server, however we are going to make a final decision as the rulesets are released because they are saying that Objective-based PVP lakes are going to be available on PvE servers. So we are kind of up in the air. We will probably have a Sith guild set up as well for Alts, as everyone seems to want to play both story lines. There is some rumblings about being about to play both factions on the same server, but with guilds needing to be allegiance based, we will have to see how that works.

Our main guild site link is Sacrifice Guild Site.

From there we have links and such to the official boards and guild rosters.

So I welcome anyone interested in playing SW:TOR to stop and over and join up. Even if you just want to look around and keep up to date on game info, we have collected a lot of videos, FAQ's and other info.

    Thanks again Ashin!

  11. Yes, PvP is there... I can queue up for BG's, but I haven't yet. The most I've done is dueled a few times hehe. I don't know if open world PvP is in, but I'd assume so. I'm really interested to see how it plays out with companions as well... in fact I'm really curious as to how companions will work out in general since you get more than one down the line. I still only have my first and original companion, so I can't comment on much. I'm also really looking forward to getting my ship and trying space travel/combat. I don't even know if there's space PvP as I haven't read up on much. I'll get around to trying everything and then be able to give more feedback.

Are the companions more like what you got in Dragon Age-ish as opposed to MMO game pets? I understand the difference in turn-based games to mmo's but I guess I was wondering about the control you have over the companion.

  12. Question for you X,

Has there been any PvP testing in BETA yet?

So with companions, as I understand it they are not involved in warzones, however, they ARE available to playing in world PvP. I guess I am trying to understand the impact of "world pvp" that is available on higher level planets (I hear there are over 19 worlds). Also, is there the ability to have ANY open (faction based) pvp on pve servers or if you choose to play on a PVE server is player combat limited to warzones only?

  13. This is what I have heard, but I haven't seen and videos or screenshots to prove it, do you have any links for it? :D

In this video you can see the BH and Jawa. He also talks about the customizations in one of the 3 videos of the set.

In this LONG video from Comic Con, they show vehicles, companion customization and talking about how they are modifying the system to allow more control.

    Gamespot

  14. I thought I read somewhere that they are going to let you play both factions on the same server. However, I know your guild needs to be declared to a faction. Not a whole lot of information on it ATM. I know some of the people who are playing with me also want to try both sides, so that probably means making both a Sith and a Republic guild to keep people together.

Companions are going to be pretty intense. Each class gets their own unique companions, like the bounty hunter gets a Jawa for one of his. You can custom configure their looks, equipment, etc. Even go into the character generator and change skin tones, facial features etc. (just not race or gender).

They are also currently redoing the companion system and the word on the street is that there will be a system akin to Dragon age where you can tweak the AI of the companion to coincide with your play-style. They said they did not want to allow the control you have in games like that, but were willing to allow more then what the early system did.

  15. Pre-ordered. :)

I've been waiting for this game a long time. As it looks, I don't see a very large interest from SoH on this game.

Sad, sad. :( Well if anyone is headed for the Republic, Let me know. We can hook up.

  16. Yeah...I'm really looking forward to it. They talked recently about crafting and how you can assign

tasks to your crew for resource gathering, buillding stuff, etc. I just hope they can keep people

over the long haul, and not just for a half year.

  17. All I could think was, where did they lose the art to block light sabers with your hands.

The guy who did the that part of the graphics was the same guy who did the duel wielding Shadow Warrior in the WAR trailer.

Its all about the Art, it does not have to be true to game world It seems. Bwuahahaha :p

  18. I got this newsletter too. It reminded me of the Warhammer trailer a bit, looks so good and gets you stoked to play. I just hope Bioware can keep the bar up there with great playstyle. I have high hopes, but am worried about it duding out. :)

  19. I will take a game with less graphic detail over cinema quality graphics any day as long as the playability is there. You should not have to have the latest hardware in order to compete in the game because your PC cannot handle all the textures. If you do, and want to crank up the graphics, by all means I hope they have that option. ;)

I was pretty amazed watching the video at the detail they put into animations, different ways to accomplish the same type of action, etc. I loved the "Oh shit" reaction of the player who got the bomb stuck to him, frantically looking around to see where it might be or how to get it off.

Even it it's released at this graphic quality, which it probably won't be, i would still be one of the first in line to get my Smuggler fix.

"When it absolutely, positively, HAS to avoid Imperial eyes..."
