Good Afternoon South of Heaven!
Why I came to your little corner of the internet.....
I recieved a mail letter in my in-box on blackrock this morning and wanted to apply, this was sent by "Sohcontact".
Just a little about me....
Before I go into what I can offer you as a WoW player, I'll happily introduce myself to you. I know that you have a small nit guild and are looking for people who have a lot of offer than just someone who can help you take down pixels and share fart jokes on vent.
I am a 31 year old Microsoft Systems Engineer & IT Professional from Phoenix, Arizona working with the State of Arizona for the Department of Education, each day my work impacts many other employees whom have a direct impact on the educational quality of our state. From my desk my job is to protect our network from security vulnerabilities and provide IT services to our agency customers. I spend my days navigating through service requests and implementing security practices to protect the employees and services we offer to our constinuents.
At home I live with my girlfriend of two years who is my ally and my rock for which I stand on, figuratilivly. For things that I enjoy for fun that are not warcraft related I'm outgoing and adventurous. Since moving to phoenix about 3 years ago, I have explored the Grand Canyon multiple times. Once down to a location called Plateau Point and other called Havasupi Falls. These trips require a great deal of physical strength as they require hikes of upwards of 20mi RT.
I also run a large young professionals' social meetup group in the area, consisting of about 2,400 members - I organize free events for people between the ages of 21-39, we do all sorts of different activies on a weekly basis. I built this group when I first moved back to phoenix in effort to meet new people.
I believe that these real life qualities that I provide on a daily basis, from work to leading a social group will extend into joining your guild.
My Passion for WoW....
I have been playing World of Warcraft since 2007 when Burning Crusade was the present expansion pack. When I first started out I had no idea what an MMO was or what all the hoopla about WoW was all about. I decided to give it a shot because a roomate of mine would play it on a nightly basis. I was at first one of those people who was like I'll never play this game... blah blah but I soon gave into it. as I had the opportunity when a few of people whom I worked with wanted to group up after work each night and play together.
The first aww inspiring moment of warcraft for me was just looking at the Map at being a level 1 hunter and seeing how massive Azeroth was... not having any idea that eventually i'd get a mount to ride - I was like... SHIT! I need to walk everywhere? This is a biggest game I've ever seen from both a tech perspective and a map sizing perspective. (I had played other shooter games before, like CoD and Battlefield). Stepping back a bit to when I first created "Mugosbomba" I realized I wanted to be a hunter, not because of two reasons. the first was being able to be a sniper of sorts and the second was that I also got to have a pet that I would have to care for at the time. (This goes back to when you had to keep your hunter pet happy, so that it would do 125% damage). I felt like this was the best fit for me.
I didn't really understand how much fun the game would be until grouping with 3 people from my job at the time (I was a Video Game Developer specializing in Test) doing dungeon runs in Hellfire Citadel I realized how much fun WoW was but it was not until I stepped foot in to Gruul's Lair did I understand the magnifiicent feat of 24 other people trying to destroy a baddie. Ever since that, I've been a raider through and through.
As a Raider in your guild I will...
I will respect the members of the guild who have been here before me. Every great team is made up of Leaders, Veterans and Newbies. I clearly understand that my incoming role is the FNG and I will provide my utmost respect to those members who have put their hard work ethic into each night they play. At present I do not have any external commitments that would not permit me from playing and always being on time and never hold up your raid doing random silly AFK ninja strikes. I don't have to walk my dog during raid, or go to the super market to get a pack of smokes. As I said earlier I've been playinjg since 2007 and I understand the commitment that it takes to be a raider in a mature guild. I have been in many guilds which I will take you through and I have heard all the lame excuses during raids.
As a Hunter I will...
Try my best to not stand in fire..keep aspect of the pack off and keep my pet on passive! I have been playing a hunter sicne the beginning as I stated earlier and I have been through all the changes that we have gone through since BC. I remember having an I-WIN button and mana as my resource.
Where I've sat down and put my feet up....
BC
My first organized guild that i Joined was simply titled "Mage" was my first enterance in a nightly raiding guild. I was able to accomplish great things with them such as Obtaining my Hand of Adal title for clearing all of SerpentShrine, Tempest Keep & Black Temple. I stayed around until Sunwell came out as I had lost a previous job which came to an end.
Wrath
I returned in wrath to work with a guild in T7 and T8, called "Shadow Templars". We were 2nd on our realm, Deathwing-US all the way through Ulduar clearing all normal and many hard modes content that debuted in Ulduar. Unfortuantely again I had some work and real life issues to sort out and I was forced to take a break from the game.
Cata
In Cata I never joined an official raiding guild. I spent the entire expansion pack forming PuGs and assisting other guilds when they needed a dps player in trade. I think my progressional given my limited non-guilded nature was pretty good. LFR was a great addition at the end of expansion.
MoP
The first tier of MoP, I joined a guild called "I did it for whitney" and I was able to down all normal modes and 8 heroics. I was only with their guild for about a month because I gquit one evening when I was being called out as a scapegoat for the raid as a whole playing poorly on attempts on Heroic Will of the Emporer. I was given assignments to absorb sparks as instructed by the raid leader. We had only been working on this for a few hours but the raid leader got more and more frustrated as the night when on. Eventually he cracked and got on vent and called me out for wrecking the raid and started yelling at everyone. I was embarrased and insulted as I honestly was doing as I was asked; we just as a team were not playing well. I was the newest person in the guild and he arrogantly make me the scapegoat. I pretty much got out of my chair, walked about my apartment for a little while and then make a personal decision to GQUIT only because I felt at my current age of 31 that I should not be spoken like that by anybody.
About my UI, KeyBinds and Add-Ons....
My UI is always a work in progress and I am definately open to assistance from anyone who is a UI guru, it's something that I consistantly tweak to assist my vision and capability to play at my best. I keep my focus bar center stage so that I can easily and try to keep my warnings from DBM out of my center vision.
You can have a peek here:
I always try to re-esbalish the location of my keybinds but as of today this is how I do input:
1: Kill Shot
2: Explosive Shot
3 Arcane Shot
4. Black Arrow
5 Cobra Shot
6. Serpent Sting
T. Mult-Shot
8. Rapid Fire
9. DireBeast
0. Stampede
- Deterance
= Tranq Shot
Shift+D - Disengage
G - Glaive Toss
R - Murder of Crows
MiddleMouse - Misdirection on Focus Target
Shift+V = Mend Pet
Shift+R = Toggle Trap Launcher
I like to also play with mininal add-ons except those are absolutely necessary for raiding.

I would like to say thank you to the person who thought enough to reach out and send me an ingame mail. It means a great deal that you sought me. I do hope that the information that I have spent the last few hours preparing for this application will be enough to convince you to move forward with me as a potential raiding hunter on your team. I feel that I have the experience, dedication and abiilty to commit to the repsonsibilties of a raider that you are seeking.
Thank you so much,
-Mugosbomba, Blackrock-US aka Steven
