  1. AMS only generates runic power as I take magic dmg, such as during Magaera rampage, my runic power will get maxed out. As for not getting the extra 2 Horn of winters, the timing of using them gets shifted a little bit. AKA it comes off cd while im at 100% runic power / have other buttons up to hit. Horn of Winter is more so a filler vs a major priority.
  2. To answer Ashins question, I was already low from the magic dot that never got dispelled on me, I could have used ams on it ya i didnt think of using it at the time, as for when i was really low i tried to get icebound fortitude off when I got really low, but got stuck in a cluster of sand traps that were practically under the boss, I was considering redoing that fight because that didnt look to good. To Kem. I have need to know bars that track my diseases and various other cds, with omniCC showing the cd remaining over my action buttons. I'm not a fan of soul reaper b.c the damage isnt really high and since it cost one frost rune, I would rather have that rune go toward an obliterate when that killing machine procs. I recently switched to blood tap for frost because I like the feel of being able to get more obliterates during killing machine. When killing machine procs, i could have like 4 seconds left on runes recharging for obliterate, using blood tap can get that obliterate out right away. As for unholy blight, i like the talent itself a lot b.c its a nice way to refresh my dots without using runes and when outbreak is on cd. Outbreak having a 1 min cd, Unholy blight having a 1.5 min, dots lasting 30 seconds. i only need to use plague strike once every 1.5 min. I like having unholy blight for AOE situations too since it will apply my dots to all the targets. The other option in that talent branch is plague leach. A plus side to having it would be timing it with a rime proc to refresh my cds for the cost of only Gcds, instead of the occasional unholy rune. As for my cds being used at different times, I bound them together about midway through that lfr b.c id run into issues where I'd go to use them both but id use up that last frost rune right before and i would only get the gloves and no pillar of frost.
  3. http://worldoflogs.com/guilds/265039/ both parts of t15 lfr. Ill be running the rest of the lfrs soon so there will be more examples to look at.
  4. Ya definitely, sorry about that. You don't mind if i take a couple days to get it all, I've never run a log progrAm personally so ill have to get one, that won't be a problem, I can have it to you by the weekend.
  5. physics is fun, it doesnt apply to my basement tho, its a game room, got a pool table and a ping pong table and other stuff, and a bar, but when i play ping pong the laws of physics do not apply, i swear, its not that im bad at ping pong its something about the laws of physics being slightly off.
  6. I dont like mechanical that much, I've considered aero and chemical as a possible change in the future.
  7. To Araenith, i got to HVCC a community college in NY state. As for being a geek vs a nerd, I dont see a difference, I'm no high tech computer professional but as for me considering myself a geek, growing up i was always the kid that wanted to play video games vs playing sports or going outside. Some games I used to play the most were the Jak and Daxter series and the Dark cloud series. http://worldoflogs.com/guilds/224816/calendar/02-13/ I tanked for pretty much all of t14 and most of my heroic progression took place on my paladin. The moments where I DPS'd were pretty much just spirit kings, and the occasional alt raid or pugging content that we didnt do as a guild. As for ret and frost, they are both very strong classes, and a ret paladin brings a lot more raid utility such as hand of protection, purity, sacrifice etc. Having clemency for paladins felt almost a must because you can get great usage of your hand spells on most fights, such as blade lord ta'yak, people get the debuff, a bop removes it. Removing the first one on people or using it at random wasnt always helpful, being smart and using it when the boss would be bladestorming and healers cant get a heal off on a person for a second was a good time to remove the debuff. Same with garalon, Boping someone that is low when the boss is about to crush could save someone from dying (although they would still take the magic damage from the pheromones. I didnt see too much progression with my death knight as must if not all the fights were on farm by the time I started playing him, but he has seen progression for the first five bosses in ToT. When it came to playing my death knight, there was less raid utility but more control in situations where there were adds, such as horridon, stacking up the adds with gorefiends grasp helps a lot for melee to get them all down. When it comes to damage as a paladin and a death knight, a paladin will do massive damage with their cooldowns stacked up, but between those two minute cooldowns the overall damage a ret paladin will do is not very high. Death knights on the other hand do a lot more overall damage and sustained damage that when it came to a burst situation, such as on spirit kings heroic, at 30% on the boss when you want to burn it down and use cds at that point, a paladin may not have cds up if he used them every time they were available or will have to hold off on using cooldowns for a little while due to timing issues, a death knight will not have that issue. Taking CDs out of the dps rotation the death knight would be the higher dps by a good bit. A death knight as tank and dps has a much better aoe then a ret paladin without sacrificing any single target damage. We also have a good bit of interrupts and crown controls that rival what a paladin can do. Paladins having rebuke and hoj, death knights have mind freeze and strangulate (force chock with talent, works the same way as talented hoj; 30 second cd ). As for person defensive cds, AMS on a death knight is very strong although sadly Anti magic zone is not, tried using it on magaera and it disappeared on the first hit. On heroic will of the emperor, a death knight would be much better to have for soaking the sparks, AMS only has a 45 second cd and can get up to two sparks will it if done correctly and topped off, while a paladin will only have one cd and will only be able to soak one spark with it, plus bubble which has a 5 minute cd, during that 8 second duration the paladin can soak all the sparks possible and be okay. Back to using a paladins hand spells, hand of sacrifice on a dps whose survival is questionable when soaking can save said person. As for raiding environment, I'm looking for a group that wants to get things done but isn't a group of mindless zombies. As being part of a community of players, players will talk and there will be side conversations, it cannot be helped (at least in my experience with guilds), but knowing when to talk and when to not talk is key, a Raid leader should have the ability to tell someone to shut up during raid but at the same time people shouldnt need to be told to shut up, there should be maturity. What i didnt like about my previous guild, is someone would die on a fight and then they would talk about it, and then when we wiped on a progression fight from a mistake or just something that isnt working, there would be like 5 minutes of people telling yomama jokes and it would take an attempt or 3 to really get through to people that there needs to be a change in how were attacking said boss. When a wipe happens instead of idiotic conversations Id much prefer a heres what went wrong now here whats we need to do to fix it, or if it was a player mistake, mistakes happen (check out my vid above). It isnt the end of the world but making a habit of it or prolonged joking during boss fights or when focus is needed is very counter productive. My last guild only raiding 7.5 hours a week. tues/wed/thurs 7:30-10 svt, and a lot of time was wasted. Another thing I wasnt too fond of in my last guild, and one player quit over this, the last few weeks of t14 we spend doing assorted farm bosses instead of trying more heroic bosses. vizier or lei shi would have been do-able by our group but with 3 weeks left of t14 the GM was content with 9/16 and decided that we werent going to waste any time getting at least ONE more boss down. There were mixed feelings about this in the guild and it started a few arguments between folks, but what hurt the most was it was one persons call and there was no voting involved in what the guild did.
  8. Hi guys my name is Robert and I am a college student studying Mechanical Engineering and am a bit of a seasoned wow raider looking to further my career and make new friends in the process. Let me start out by saying I am no writer. English was my first language, but I find calculus easier then knowing the difference between commas and grammar, so some of you may want to shoot me after you read all this. I started playing in BC and got into raiding right at the start of wotlk. I played a mage and a death knight clearing all the content twice each week with a guild called Titan Inc. We had all the content down on 25m accept for 3d OS ( We did manage 1 drake up tho!!) I stayed with Titan Inc all the way to T9, got 2/5 togc 25m. Then moved to The Panic Attacks around the time Paragon killed heroic Lich King, and stayed with them all the way to dragon soul. We went 11/12hm t10, 6/13hm t11, 6/7hm t12 (all my raid experience prior to DS release was on 25m ) After firelands I went to play with friends but then they stopped playing for a while so I got into a 10m guild called subtle insanity and got 8/8 hm with the 15% debuff. With progression and the expansion over with, interest was fading from people and recruiting new people to keep clearing the content was getting tough so I too left and stopped playing for a few months. Then i came back and got into Burn phase and finished off the expansion with them cleared 8/8hm multiple times a week and then going 9/16hm t14 with them (on 10m). Now with the new tier I want to get back into 25m raiding and the decision to leave Burn Phase, although was tough, became easy when progression basically stopped due to people not showing up anymore and the need to recruit to fill a few spots. Outside of raiding i enjoy goofing off with friends and playing alts, I have a large army of alts (like 7), and I enjoy doing old content, currently Im leveling a toon to do herald of the titans with a couple old friends that ive talked into leaving toons for. Growing up sports were never really my thing, I enjoyed volleyball and played it through high school although my coach just about ruined it for me. He had never played the sport before and was the old football coach. OMG he was a bad coach, and the first year our team didnt win a single game. He took big guys that didnt know what they were doing and were more just protein mass than athletes and stuck them on the court....it didn't go well. I also played baseball when I was younger but got bored of it as I was more of a geek and just wanted to play my video games instead, when I got into raiding I knew it was my calling card and that was what i wanted to be my "sport". So far this expansion i have played a paladin, which has been my main since T9, a dk (one of my alts during t7) and my druid (leveled with my paladin, pretty much shared experience with him). I have always been a tank / dps offspec for guilds and I dont mind it one bit, as for my paladin and dk, Im open to playing either one of them as I consider myself very capable with each as frost / blood and prot / ret. i find frost and ret very much alike, although frost feels more like a ret paladin with cds always up. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/stormreaver/Punistrasza/simple ^dk http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/stormreaver/Pun%C3%AEsher/simple ^paladin I rerolled to my dk at the end of t14 to fit the comp a little better due to a few new recruits, his dps set is a little behind but i got it up a bit and feel very competent playing. My ret set isnt the highest but again i feel very comfortable playing it. My views of raiding are to show up and enjoy yourself like anything you do, if you dont enjoy it, then most likely the people you are playing with dont enjoy you. Unwritten rules of raiding (actually every guilds used to write this) are to have flasks and consumables and everything ready for the night to minimize downtime are just obvious things that people should be doing and are like second nature now. Its like showing up at a job the very second you need to punch in and then going to go change your clothes and go to the bathroom, its unnecessary. I feel like raiding, at least in 25m is like being in the military, there is a chain of command and a job to do that has a direct impact on everyone you play. I enjoy goofing off and I dont like really strict environments (Like riggnaros yelling at his raid...). he needs to smoke some weed me thinks.I believe in a strict raiding structure to accomplish the overall goal but at the same time I log into wow to escape the bitter part of my life and be someplace where i can feel a lot better about myself. being around a bunch of people with sucky attitudes just ruins everything. I work at a restaurant and the thing they stress the most is that attitudes be left at the door or your fired ( i dont think people have been fired for bad attitudes....but we do go through waiters/resses like clockwork due to "Not knowledgable about the restaurant / inability to learn..." Thats all pretty dumb, I dont know too much about the place i work at I just treat people like Im the host of some event at my own house and I do very well, like yes I do know most of the menu but thats just from the experience of working with it. being a waiter for me is like being a host of a party and chilling with new people all the time, not being an order taker (altho i still get bums who come in all grumpy and its like they dont know how to act in public and omg its annoying). rambling..... http://oi50.tinypic.com/wlyoo1.jpg i dont think that was a kill attempt right there, and i dont have any as amazing screenshot for my death knight floating around, but the UI is pretty much the same just different color buttons....ill post a dk Screenshot later. Anyway I think i covered all the cool stuff here. So I dont run on dial up internet, its stable about all the time, I picked your guild because I definitely want to get back into 25m because I felt the overall experience was much more enjoyable and from most of your kills on wowprogress it appears you dont have a regular death knight at all, well allow me to change that and make you all proud. Looking forward to hearing back from you guys and hope we can have a future slaying any internet dragons together. Any questions hit me up ingame or by email, Bobbyblazer93@gmail.com Cheers~
