    ... another question ...

Steam lists multiple ESO entries: Tamriel Unlimited $30, Morrowind $20, ESO Plus Membership $8, plus digital collector's editions. Which would I need to buy?

Also, is there some form of world or region chat like in other MMOs?

Steam store is a bit wonky on versions, probably for marketing reasons. It looks like what's listed as Tamriel Unlimited (for $29.99) is the base game + the Morrowind expansion. You'll notice it says "Buy The Elder Scrolls Online - Morrowind" but when you add it to your cart it shows as Tamriel Unlimited.

The $19.99 Morrowind (DLC) is the upgrade price for people who previously owned the base game and want access to the new areas and classes.

Digital collectors editions are what you'd expect. Aesthetic gear, mounts, etc. If that has value to you, then go for it.

ESO plus membership is their subscription, but not needed to play. It gives you perks like bonus XP, a monthly allowance of crowns (their in-game real money currency,) which you can use to buy DLC packs, mounts, aesthetic stuff from the crown store

I don't have any of the extra stuff (including Morrowind and the new classes) and it doesn't feel like I'm missing out on anything. The world is fairly massive and the quests now scale with your level, so there's a ton of content that you never "outgrow." Maybe some of the others who are a bit higher level can speak to the benefits?

  2. I'd be into this too, especially if it was pretty casual. I played during the beta, and then eventually broke down and got the pre-Morrowind complete pack. I'm still low level and Ebonheart though, so if we're all going Aldmeri just let me know and I'll roll something up!

Tyrlis - IRL people call me Brett, and I hail from Connecticut.  I make my RL isk in a hospital in financial planning.  I really like it I get to help doctors create new programs, help patients, and improve performance se we can help more patients.  I get to work with a lot of people who are way smarter than me which is pretty cool.  The criticism of Connecticut is that it is boring...and yes, yes it is

Am originally from CT, and can confirm.

    Small world.

  4. Woot! Finally got you to post an intro!  I've played a few games for the last 10 years with Tim and he'd fit in well with us in FFXIV.

I'm sure he'll be an elvaan dragoon in subligars because that's just what he does.

    I hate you.

  5. Howdy Gul! Let us hope we get some juicy information from the Live Letter this week and are in Open Beta soon!

What class do you plan on playing at launch? What race (this is VERY important)? Did you get a chance to play in Closed Beta at all?

Ahhh class selection, that's a tough question. Initially I was going to go LNC but I have this uncanny ability of 1) Picking the class to get nerfed the heaviest, 2) Switching to a class that gets nerfed after the nerfing of the first class. But right now my two front runners are LNC or CNJ.

Race = I just gotta go with that gangly, awkward, dhalmel-necked Elvaan Elezen.

    I played all of b3.

  6. Hi Errrrrrybuddy,

My name's Tim, char name Gul. I'm friends with Cal, Inedit, JJones, and Kayvern. I'm going to be playing FFXIV at launch and they told me I should come here to introduce myself, and then be verbally abused and emotionally scarred by the responses.

Anyways, I know Cal from way back playing FFXI on Bahamut, and I know Inedit, JJ, and Kay from WoW. I've played a ton of games over the years but all in all I'm pretty casual. Hope to see everyone in-game in a few weeks.. *cross your fingers*
