  1. While Mordrid is right about how boring it is to be a 5-star plus during vulns, and how easy it is to be zerged into utter annihilation, it really is loads of fun transforming, esp. when Elyos don't expect it (like during regular PvP). I had a blast but after a bit, the cost of that 10 minute high w/ a 2 hour cooldown becomes, well, costly, lol. But you should absolutely go for it! Everyone w/n reach should reach for that star, even if it's just for a while.

  2. Pffft, part of my reasoning for leaving Aion had to do w/ the incessant busy-busy nature of Anomaly. I'm burned just a lil crispy around the edges atm bc of it. And now with so much blue, it's gotten 10x worse! (altho I cannot complain at how well the faction has pulled together and accomplished their goals. Go Asmos!) Hehe, I mistakenly thought it was "safe" to log on Thursday night bc there are no abyss vulns... thought maybe, just maybe, I could do dreg and run a couple inners. Boy was I wrong, lol. All I heard for an hour was how we were going to Ingisson to take their forts. I couldn't even dreg bc even if I could find a team, it would look horrible, and rightly so, to have a Centurion in dreg during a raid. I conveniently decided to do laundry instead. My heart just isn't in it. And what really sucks big royal honking donkey butts is that I made it to General and am sooo close to getting my item and deranking (no rank = hellamorefun) that I'm almost tempted to stay. Almost.

But no, I definitely need a break from the game. I'll most likely return at some point after a well-deserved rest, lol. I'm hoping you folks will keep me up to date on the goings-on in the abyss and such (most of my friends are taking a break as well, so I've no one left I can count on for an update xD).

  3. We could have used you last night when we ran it :) Voskan was almost going to text you to see if you wanted to get on. We got to the last boss but we spawned the hard mode boss unknowingly lol.

I just got off the phone w/ him... he's so damn funny! lol Trying to text me at my home # rofl!

I gave him an edu-macation on making domestic calls that don't include text xD

  4. Thankie for the "friend" upgrade :)

I suspect that GW2 may be released in April given that that is the 6th anniversary of the franchise; however, I could be wrong (first time for everything! lol xD).

As for Aion, pfft, figures.... I'm gearing up to take a nice break from it and behold, the Asmodians conquer the upper abyss and now Divine?!? I finally completed that silly "Sign on the Dotted Line" quest and ran the instance this morning. Interesting.... I'll leave it at that xD.

  5. Thank you all for the warm welcome, lol.

Another stained glass artist?! sioux weet! lol An expensive hobby to be sure but hellafun!

My soul mate and I were born of the same sex and not a single bit of attraction to one other, so we've been "bffs" for more than 40 years now -- her name is Janet; we affectionately call each other "Butthead" xD.

I've spoken to Huntyre and told him I thought it /lame on my part to join the SoH community right now since I'll probably let my sub go come 11/23. I've logged onto Aion exactly twice this past week, each time for 10m, lol. I am, however, exceedingly interested in maintaining communication with you charming peeps!

I've got plans for GW2 and will likely have a guild/alliance of peeps in tow. At present, I've been a long-time member of UK alliance in GWs (and past ally leader as well) .... our gaming ideology is very like your own and I believe it would be a very good match (should GW2 provide an alliance option like they did in the first franchise). It may be that I won't wish to lead another guild in GW2; in fact, it's probably likely.

A friend of mine plays WoW and has almost convinced to me to try it again (I didn't care for it the first time, but that might have been due to the friendless factor, I dunno). Of late I have been logging onto Guild Wars, trying like hell to upgrade my Hall of Monuments (the part of GWs that will provide a legacy to GW2). A total of 50 points are available; I'm currently 47/50. My main toon, a necro named Fera Moan Dih (i screwed up "die" pfft) achieved "God Walking Among Mere Mortals" and all that's left now is for me to obtain a few more horrendously ugly weapons to apply for the remaining points, lol.

So... who of you are going to play what in GW2?? I'll mostly likely main a Sylvari necro, although I'm sure I'll wind up w/ the max # of toons and a 2nd account before too long, lol. I'm such a dork!

    See you on the boards!

  6. OMG, a blank page! You folks are in a LOT of trouble! lol I'm the most verbose person I know in writing.

My name is Feramoan (Fera plz, also my nickname IRL).

I'm 46 and while I have been a loyal member/officer of first Corvus (on Triniel), which became Anomaly here on Israphel, my gaming style is no longer in sync with most of these young people. I'm unsure if the release of the expansion itself, or the highly intense nature of my current guild is what's burned me out; either way, it's become a fact, and my tenure in Aion may be very short indeed. We'll see.

I'm retired (taught Freshman Comp) and scratch a living on rental property. I have advanced degrees in Shakespeare and Linguistics, have called New Orleans, La. "home" for many years, but have also lived in Houston, Tx., Gatlinburg, Tn., and Statford-Upon-Avon, England. I enjoy cooking (esp. Italian and Cajun/Creole), loathe housework, adore my cat, and am a stained glass artist. Before landing in the teaching profession I taught ballroom dancing, was a hairdresser, sold radio advertising, and managed a newstand. I also have certifications in Gestalt psychotherapy and NLP. I think all of this gobbledy-gook contributes to me being a well-rounded, even-tempered person .... I've walked in so many different peoples' shoes, it's hard for me to find fault with others or their walk in life. When one has an open mind, more stuff can get in!

My other prominent MMO affiliation was Guild Wars (and yes, I'm drooling over the release of GW2). As both a guild and alliance leader there, I believe I had the same attitude as SoH overall. My recruitment was 'closed' in that we only ever invited people we knew and liked, i.e., friends, family members, people we enjoyed gaming with. That sort of "exclusivity" had an unexpected boomerang effect: I intended to keep our numbers small but ended up with a full guild and a waiting list of guilds that wished to join our alliance, lol. Unlike SoH, however, we were open to children (GWs has a lot of kid-friendly PvE content) and so mothers and fathers, aunts and uncles, even grandparents! could all play together with their families (age 8 was my youngest member!)

The nitty-gritty of it is this: I am currently at odds with Aion as an outlet for my gaming needs and something has to give. Leaving Anomaly to join SoH (if I'm accepted of course) may only be a salve. The constant, incessant vulns (lvl 55 cleric, full Fenris and full 40 elite ap gear), being called upon to camp and heal for daily PvE bosses raids (plz, give me a break huh?), the lack of "fun" replayable PvE content, and the high rank (pfft, 5-star officer and holding, which prevents me from any kind of PvP unless I transform ><) all add up to one very unhappy gamer.

I've got until Nov 23rd to decide if Aion is a keeper or if I'm giving it up for a while, or possibly for good. I completely understand if SoH is not interested in taking on a possible Aion-retiree, but even if you do not, I would still want to get to know you folks b/c the multi-gaming platform means possible associations in the future. I'm gonna send Huntyre my personal email so that we can keep in touch regardless of what happens here.

    Thanx for your time!
