  1. Going to try and bring some life back in to this thread.

I'm getting increasingly disappointed in how hard it seems to be to get rated groups going on this server.  Since a good chunk of us are now on the dungeon phase of the attunement, and with many others progressing to that point, I imagine that will be the main focus.

I'm looking for groups of 5, seeing as queing as 10 drastically reduces the potential for point gain, for rated bgs.  We need to get some sort of scheduled time/day(s) to get this ball rolling.  I know there are tons of talent in the ranks and I'd like to expose said talent to the PvP world of Nexus.

I'll start by saying my availability.  Maybe others can do the same and we can collaborate on when would be best for the majority.

    Weekdays - 6PM-9PM & 11PM-4AM

    Weekends - 1PM +

Give or take the occasional band practice/night out, but these are the bigger slices of my play time.

  2. I would be game for anything, and I also think trip dps will be viable as well.

Edit: Currently my focus is on crafting and attunement. I most likely won't be "going hard" on pvp until those are wrapped up unfortunately :(

The crafting may benefit you more anyhow noesis.  the PVP gear you buy from the vendor has stats all over the place, and is only beneficial from the "pvp stats" it gives.  There is pvp crafted gear, and since you can choose your stats with those, I would assume they would be more desireable.

I'd be interested in PvP of a less than hardcore nature. Like, junior varsity pvp. Medium-core perhaps.  :D

I'm not really focused enough to make sure I have the best gear/build/knowhow/whatever to be on a serious team, but I like to PvP and I like to do that with friends. But sometimes I'm really just winging it so I don't want to impede anyone's aspirations to rise up in the rankings.  :)

That's perfectly fine!  There are always going to be times when 10 "hardcore" people will be unavailable, or we are just looking to farm prestige.  In which case, the semi-premade practice grounds will be our calling.
  3. I do.  Without sounding pretentious I'm pretty good at it.  Malìx is my in-game name.  The "i" is alt + 141.  I'll play ocassionally when I've become fed up with WS, which so far is rare.  Seems to be more so just when maintenance is happening.

  4. Arena's don't have to be with just me.  This was more for an open discussion with everyone to manufacture comps/teams.  With the way the life counter/respawn system works, triple dps with hybrid classes MAY be EXTREMELY viable.  I honestly think for triple DPS to work, an esper/stalker are two CORE essentials.  Add a SS with T8 charged shot, you have the biggest burst in the game imo.

    Not liking your SS Till??!?!

  5. This has inspired me to begin working on an addon called "The list".  It will be an editable list in-game that allows you to input guild names (case sensitive).  Whenever you target an enemy that has a name found on your "list" it will show a warning on your screen.  Also debating on whether or not to include Morgan Freema's line from the crappy movie "Wanted"..

    WARNING*  EXPLICIT LANGUAGE*

  6. Where all my hardcore PvP'ers at?!!?!

In WoW, I strictly played for PvP and was a top contender on the hardcore PvP serves (most recently tichondrius).  I had multiple Glad seasons and would like to reach that status in this game as well.  Myself being a spell slinger, best partners would be stalkers/warriors for DPS partners, and most likely an esper for healing.  If anyone is familiar with WoW 3's comps, this would be relate-able to RMP, or WMP.  Both very top tier comps.

As a side note, I don't know if many people are interested in rated BG's, and getting sustainable organized groups going.  Maybe picking off-raid days to schedule something like this.  I don't know if anyone is already appointed, or also had interest in this, but I would like to volunteer myself for some sort of PvP leader for arenas, warplots, bgs, world PvP gank squads (tehe :D).

So, if anyone is interested in the hardcore-ness of PvP, list your character class/main spec, and any previous MMO  PvP experience you might have.  None is needed, but preferred.

    HARDCORE!

  7. Funny enough, I thought your name was a reference to the anime Mushi-Shi.  If you like the slice-of-life stuff, this has that plus a mystery element to it.  It's a great short series to watch.  I've watched it multiple times when I've forgotten a good amount of the episodes, and it's always just as interesting as the first time.

    Welcome aboard!

  8. I'm going to have to get back in to theory crafting with this game.  I need to find all the DR %'s for stats.  More specifically strikethrough and pen, which I think will be making the most difference in significant amounts.

  9. Welcome, Malixx!

I see you've been off to a great start with some questions here. I listened to some of your music and it's good stuff! Skillet is one of my son's favorite bands and Pride and I went to that concert many moons ago as well.

Please don't mind us while we poke and prod you (science!). New people are amazing specimens.

Are you prepared for a zombie apocalypse? If so, can I have your address?

Thanks Vanity!  Glad to hear you liked it.  I've seen Skillet a few times myself, and am waiting for the opportunity to share a stage with them at some point.

Poke and prod all you guys want.

I am most certainly NOT prepared for any sort of apocalypse.  I happen to have a friend of mine who's dad has a y2k bunker (he's one of those guys), which he regularly keeps updated.  So in the event of a world wide catastrophe, I will be heading straight there.

  10. Welcome!

Periphery, you say?  The Parade of Ashes -- yay or nay?

Name checking Darker than Black -- Nyisha will love you like a love song, baby.

So you're SMITE famous?  Famous enough that if you're name dropped among the right company they will have heard of you?!

Distinct lack of tattoos for a band..........conscious decision?  Or, in secret places?

Parade of ashes is an AMAZING song, probably my favorite on the album.  The solo gives me chills.

As for the darker than black name check, I'm at a loss as to what you are referring to.

Not famous, but I regularly am in the same ranked ques as zap, lass, shing, wolfy, jerb, stealth, all the big boys.  They would probably recognize my name if asked.

I have a few tattoos, all on my back and chest, so they are hidden.  I'm the only one of the group who has any though.  Just not for some people I guess.

  11. Welcome to the community!

Do you like anime?  If so, what do you watch/like to watch?  If not, s'all good.

Most amazing food you've had within the past 6 months?

    Favorite movie of all time?

Which do you prefer, IS-LM or AD-AS model?

    Are there hats?

    Do owls exist?

Do you like anime?  If so, what do you watch/like to watch?  If not, s'all good. - I do in fact.  Favorites would have to be Darker than black, Death Note, FMA brotherhood, kekkaishi, and probably Inuyasha just for the fact that I started with that primarily.

Most amazing food you've had within the past 6 months? - the steak I had at a brazilian steak house.  The name escapes me.. but I thought I was going to wake from a dream any moment.

Favorite movie of all time? -   ALL TIME?!?!  If I HAD to pick one.. it's a tie between Ghost Busters and A Knights Tale.

Which do you prefer, IS-LM or AD-AS model? - I wasn't an economics major, and don't feel I have an adequate say on this particular subject lol.

Are there hats?  There are always hats, would you like to trade?

    Do owls exist? Who?

  12. Please do let me know about your next EP/album. I couldn't access the self titled album because I don't use iTunes, which was a bit of a bummer after hearing the other songs.

And thanks for playing along! Those last two questions were a little ridiculous just for the sake of being so. Good to know that you have experience in theory crafting, though. Threads always pop up about how to build, and it sounds like you can contribute with or without 'going down the rabbit hole'. (Theory crafting can get nuts, but you know that.)

I won't tell your friends about anything, but I will recommend that you see Book of Mormon. Just don't make my mistake and see it with religious parents. The whole 'Fuck you God' song didn't go over so well with them, but I thought the show was a lot of fun. The caveat is that it's a bit more forgettable than other musicals.

We have a single lined up to be releases some time this summer.  Still working out the kinks.  Haha, I'll be sure to watch that with non-religious folk.  I myself am, but that kind of stuff doesn't bother me.

Thank you for the great intro and welcome to the forums. Your mindset going into WS seems very similar to my own.

Have you ever listened to Mudvayne? If so, would you consider them "Metal?"

Are we to see an intro post from your left brain? Are you still in contact with him?

Have you ever had any classical instruments mixed into any of your songs? I've been recorded playing my cello by a local band, and it turned out pretty sick.

I personally don't listen to them, but I know my drummer does.  I've heard him mention them a few times.  I'll have to ask his opinion on them.  I'm more in to bands like periphery, dream theater, alter bridge, tesseract, ect.  progressive metal i guess.

Dufor now has a wife and kids, and a very promising career as a lead systems engineer for a company who specializes in red hat server environments.  He doesn't have too much time for games anymore.  He's played the beta here and there.  If he decides to get more involved, I'll make sure the first thing he does is make a post here.

we have a few classical instruments in a few intros to new material, but nothing too extensive.  If you are familiar with a band called "skillet", they ALWAYS have strings on many of their songs.

  13. Well sir, you have a fantastic name, if i may.  And thanks for giving it a listen!  We have new material coming out soon, I'll be sure to let you know when its out!

What's your best dance move? - None, I'm white.  Unless head banging counts.

What's one of your guilty pleasures? - Musicals.  Say it in front my friends and I'll deny it.

Do you ever play weddings? If so, did it involve performing the chicken dance song?  Lol, we have never played weddings, nor do we ever intend to.  I have however, played many hookah lounges by myself just with an acoustic.  Mostly covering tenacious D and oldies.

Did you use Red Bull or Ritalin to achieve your #1 Hunter ranking? I'm not one to judge, just looking for pointers!  I use to be big in to theory crafting back in the day, min/maxing and all that wonderful stuff.  I wrote many a strats for ranged DPS in general for certain boss fights.  I would have to credit Dufor (other hunter) for most of my success.  I don't think either of us would have been as top tier as we were without each other.  He was the left brain and I was the right.

  14. I can't STAND people who do the speed limit (or under) in the fast lane.  Do they not teach people that this lane is for passing?  That was drilled in my head when I was getting my license.

And if they briefly spaced out, or are just feeling mellow - which is totally fine - why don't they at least change to the middle lane when they see a bunch of people backed up behind them???

Hey, do you ever do this: sometimes I go out of my way to be somewhat dramatic when I pass them via the middle lane and purposely cut right in front of them before speeding away.  It's like my desperate last hope that they will realize they don't belong in that lane.

Oh, I most certainly do.  And in the extreme cases, I like to give a little love tap on my breaks before speeding off, just as a last little parting gift

  15. Hey guys,

My in-game name is reserved as Malixx (Malix was taken HGAAAASKJLGdbklBFS), my real name is Ben.  I'm going to be playing a spellslinger mainly as DPS, with a healing offspec (obviously).  I've been playing MMO's since EQ, but never really got serious about raiding until WOTLK in WoW.  I was the #1/#2 Hunter on my server for the entirety of that expansion, constantly switching between another hunter in the same guild.  I played semi competitive in HoN and consider myself among the top players in a game called SMITE.  I've become more PvP oriented as far as my gaming style over the past few years, mainly due to a lack of challenge in raid content.  I don't think I've ever been this excited about raid content in a game in a VERY long time.  My goals will be to see all PvE content, and maintain a competitive presence in the PvP environment.

Outside my gaming life, I play in a band as lead guitarist that sounds like what critics call, "a clash of breaking benjamin and metallica".  We call ourselves "from this fire" (shameless plug inc -> www.fromthisfire.com)

I work at a datacenter for a living, maintaining operations and crisis containment.  I live in the overcrowded-with-old-people sunshine state, and love to complain about slow drivers in the fast lane.

From what I've read on the forums, SoH seems like the perfect home for me.  Poking around the SoH forums a bit, everyone here seems mature and friendly.  Gaming backgrounds look extensive, which is something I always look for.

Hopefully SoH has room for me among its ranks. I look forward to meeting all of you and building warplots no one is able to pass!
