  1. Hey Salome! Nice to see you here! We must be giving off a West Coast vibe because we're meeting a ton of new friends from California/Washington/Oregon haha. :D So, we generally ask everyone who joins to give let us know a little bit more about themselves, basics like what do you do for work/school, what other hobbies do you have, games you play, stuff like that. Anything your comfortable sharing with internet strangers!

On top of that, we like to ask recruits a bunch of silly and/or serious questions to get to know each other better. Here are mine!

    - Three dogs, huh? That's brave, I have two and often it feels like two too many. :D What kind of dogs and can we see them??

    - We haven't tried PvP yet as a group, but I know some of us have our eyes towards trying it out soon (about 3/4ths of the guild is BRAND new to the game haha). In your opinion, what's the best thing about PvP in Cyrodil?

    - What is your favorite "guilty pleasure" song - i.e. a song that you'd be embarrassed to tell people you like??

We do have a Discord, I'll be sending you an invite in a PM soon! We also have a Mumble (no TS, we're Mumble people), that info is in the MOTD for the guild. Can you drop us your account name here too so we can send you an invite in-game?

    Also just a quick note...

If I'm too young and you'd rather keep the guild populated with older people then that's okay. Just let me know I won't be offended if you turn me down lol :p

Good news on that front! We were impressed by your intro and solid response to my pointed question on our age difference. We'd like to send you an invite! Fera will probably beat me to it, but if not can you leave your account name here so I can invite you tonight?

  3. Hey there Ratchett, nice to meet you! We're all brand new to the game (mostly!), so you've come to the right place if you're looking for a group to learn the game with! We ask all of our new recruits a mix of serious and silly questions as a way to break the ice and get to know each other better. Here are my questions:

    - We're old. We've generally kept to an unofficial "21+" age limit. What motivates you to want to play with a bunch of old heads?

    - Are you playing any other games right now, and if so, which ones?

    - Can we see the Dane please?? (I love big dogs!!)

I'm actually really picky about what I eat. I don't have an weird combinations of food.

This is good...the thought of Fera's steamed broc and mayo really put me in a funk this morning!!:D

It has been a long time since I was able to open up and share that generously right from the get-go. I was shaking afterward from anxiety cause I thought I said too much. Everyone has been great thus far!

I had a great time with you, Fera, and Paige last night! I want to break out my DK tank after seeing yours haha.

  6. Hi Kielithos! Welcome to the SoH! I sent you an in-game invite this morning.

so if you all have any questions, feel free to ask!

Oh, they'll definitely ask! It's SoH tradition to ask new recruits wacky questions in their recruitment thread. I'm going to skip tradition because I need to run off to work, but I'm sure everyone else will pick up the slack!

What caught my eye about SoH was that you all are new to the game (so I think), and you all are still learning and growing. I think that's great because even though I've been playing the game off and on, I still haven't really done much of anything in it. SoH seems like it would be such a great guild for me. I want to experience more of what ESO has to offer: Vet Dungeons, Trials, vTrials (maybe), PvP.

You've come to the right place! We are all definitely new to ESO, only a couple of us have hit level 50. The downside to that is that we're not quite ready to be doing vet dungeons yet. We're doing a lot of normal dungeons though! I've also been mulling over organizing our first PvP event, that will probably happen in the next couple weeks. I've heard that normal trials aren't any harder than normal dungeons, they just require more time and people. We'll definitely test that theory when we have 12 people interested in trying it out!

Haha, but I do have Monster Hunter World that I hope to play soon.

I think we have some MHO players around here, you'd probably find some interested in grouping with you if you asked around on our discord.

Looking forward to meeting up you in game!

  7. Nice to see you here Paige! Before I launch into my questions, why don't you tell us some more about yourself? Where do you live/work/etc., all that good stuff. Whatever you're comfortable sharing with strangers on the internet haha :) To the questions!

    - Lestat in your username - is that Lestat like the vampire guy Lestat? I've never read the books but I'm a big fan of the movie. Who doesn't love seeing vampire Tom Cruise suck blood out of swamp rats!

    - What other games do you play or have you played? Do you have an all time favorite MMO?

    - What class/level is your ESO main?

    - How did you know that dog pics would put you on the fast track to membership?? Also OMG what a dog!

Look forward to meeting you in game!

  8. Hi Oolong and welcome to the guild! Glad to have you here and I look forward to meeting you in game soon! I'll send you an invite tonight (if Fera hasn't sent one already). I'll also send you a short PM here on the forums with some standard new recruit info.

It's SoH tradition to ask new recruits a series of (mostly silly) questions, so prepare yourself! My questions are:

    - I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you're a tea fan (based on username?). Same here, always been a tea guy. Have you ever had a tea latte, and if so, which tea variety is best in the latte? (Kind of a high risk question since it's entirely possible your not actually all that into tea!)

    - What class and level is your ESO main, and does it ride a camel?

    - Does your cockatiel talk at all, and does it say anything embarrassing? My parents have an Amazon that at one point learned to mimic the playboy channel. Now, its favorite thing to do is mimic the way my mom talks on the phone: "Oh, yea, HAHAHA, oh, oh, HAHAHA" on a loop.

  9. Hi Celestial! I'm also a big fan of exploring around Tamriel. There's something very satisfying about wandering around a zone aimlessly and stripping it of all its natural resources! And also treasure chests, I LOVE finding treasure chests :). My question: what's the most interesting book in your libraries collection? (Weirdest, rarest, etc.)

  10. Hi Vaaza, glad to have you aboard! We always ask new members a bunch of questions in their intro threads, so prepare yourself! Here are my questions:

    - You've been playing for a lot longer than us - what's your number one piece of advice for us noobs?

    - What are some of your favorite games (mmos or otherwise) that you're playing now?

    - Do you have any non-gaming hobbies?

  11. These are some good questions and responses! :thumbup: One thing i forgot to ask: do you have a name you want to go by on comms? I'm Simone only because that was main character in Eve - you'll soon see that none of my ESO characters are named simone haha

  12. Hi NW!

Nice to have you here and I look forward to meeting you in game! We always ask new recruits a series of random questions, so prepare yourself. :D I'll start us off:

What class or classes do you play in ESO?

What's your IRL job and/or how do you spend your time when you aren't gaming?

What is your favorite ESO mount and why is it the camel?? :D (im a huge fan of the camel)

  13. Practical's got it covered! Writing a short intro post about yourself is SoH right of passage #1. :D I'm on Discord now if you'd like to PM me to talk more about the guild or get an invite (the intro post and a couple of quick questions from me in a PM are prerequisites for an invite).

  14. The ESO Cohort is Officially Open for Business!

I'm excited to announce that the ESO cohort is open and accepting new members! I'll be the chapter's game officer with Fera acting as our liaison to SoH's leadership council.

    Current Plans and Goals

We are currently in super casual mode with one night a week (Saturday evening) dedicated to group activities and general rabble rousing. All members are welcomed and encouraged to organize additional events/nights, so please feel free to add more to our calendar! I'm going to begin a soft recruitment push focusing newer players who fit the SoH mold in the next few days. All SoH veterans playing ESO with the guild receive the "officer" rank in-game and are (again) welcomed and encouraged to recruit new members!

    Infrastructure

We are using the standard SoH Mumble for voice chat, and we have our own channel already. We will also have a dedicated Discord chat channel as well, which we will use for all of our scheduling and general chatting fun. We are also trying something super progressive and forgoing setting up the usual game specific subforums. Discord and mumble, that's it!

  15. Yep I'm EST! Looking forward to some weekend gaming :) I have level 42 Nightblade healer (lizard) and a brand new Sorcerer tank (tiger man). It's kinda hard to pick any of the other races when anthropomorphic cats and lizards are available. I'm gonna level the tank up a bit this week so that I can bring either character on Saturday.
