  1. Freezing rain is never fun; I don't care where you live. Even with a heavy-duty scraper that kind of ice isn't any fun to deal with in the morning, lol (I never remember to get de-icer...) Then, once you get through that process, every road is a deathtrap because no other kind of weather does to them what freezing rain does. It's just miserable.

  2. Welcome to the both of you!

(This post is my penance for kind of inadvertantly ignoring your presence in chat when you popped in :p Non-GW2 members are nice too, I promise!)

I also don't always introduce myself as Tilluk's bf in these games, so I support your decision! ;) I think it has something to do with not wanting to be known primarily as so-and-so's significant other? Like, you don't have to always associate me with someone else? Idk; that's the best I can manage atm. Ramble, ramble, ramble.

    ...I plead Friday.

  3. Hey there, and welcome to the forums.

Because you're applying to a very small, very unofficial chapter, your recruitment period will emphasize getting to know the guild at large as well as the people playing WoW. We have a lot of activity on our message boards, as well as a chat room if that's your cup of tea, so that shouldn't be too difficult. ;)

To start us off, what we're looking for in an app are things like... Do you have any hobbies outside of gaming? What do you do for a living? You said you've raided and raid lead before; what was your favorite tier? Most successful? Favorite color? Ice cream? Dinosaur? Movie? Do you have pets? Know any other languages? In which branch of the military did you serve?

Obviously you don't need to answer every single one of those questions, but WoW is more of a social chapter than anything else right now, so we need to get to know you.

Hope this helps/makes sense. Looking forward to your response.

  4. To be completely honest I don't remember too much about DFC, lol; it feels like a past life! I spent more time playing MageStorm, actually (I think both it and DFC were part of the Gamestorm service...?) Funny you mention people trying to get DFC back up and running; I found a guy who basically re-made Magestorm and started hosting it this year--he goes by Sorien. It's of course not the same experience it used to be; but it was squee-inducing fun to play again, even if only a relative few were there to play against.

  5. Oh man, DFC; there's a game I haven't seen mentioned in a long time! It's always fun to meet people who played these games I kind of thought only a couple hundred people ever knew of. The first DF was one of the very first online games I ever played. Rolled a demon, naturally.

I'm jealous that you're (1) making games and (2) done with school. I'm back in school myself after 10 years and the bitter pill of core/non-major requirements is as bitter as ever. Mercifully, I just have four pages to write before this godforsaken semester is over, and I may not move from my computer chair for the duration of winter break.

    Oh, and welcome. =)

  6. Welcome (again)!

I noticed your edit! Don't feel like you have to answer to a roll call every night or anything. It's important to be around so that people get to know you, but it's not necessary to let us know if you're not going to log on for a night or two.

I feel compelled to ask: SeKret class builds! Do they involve corporate secrets? Sensitive information that could damage national security in the wrong hands? DOES IT INVOLVE THE KFC RECIPE?!?!
