  1. Huzzah for another Warrior! Always glad to have another hammer along.
  2. Hey man, we'd be glad to have you. What professions do you play?
  3. Hi there. Glad to have you. I hope you're into WvW!
  4. Hey man, glad to have you. Like I said you Kyo, GW2 has a pretty rough turnover rate. I hope you'll enjoy the stability here.
  5. Hey man. I'm sorry to hear about Vicimus, but this game has a high turnover rate for some reason - a lot of people come and go for no reason other than a lack of interest. I'm glad to hear you're interested in SoH and look forward to playing with you.
  6. Malleus, I am angry at you now. I'm downloading the World of Warplanes closed beta client, and I just finished daily doubles on all my tanks except that stupid Stug. I already had SO MANY things to do! I can't afford to be re-addicted to Wargaming.net!
  7. Uhhh, not that I'm aware of. Though LB + Horn/Sword is a good roaming spec.
  8. Malleus! Glad to see you decided to apply. You never know what kind of cool people you can discover idling in HotM, I'm glad I spoke up and took the first step. I played WoT right after I got back from the 'stan last year, I enjoyed it up until I hit the T8 grind. Now that you've re-ignited that flame I might start it up again as a side hobby, if only to get my daily doubles on my T8 German and T6 US Arty. It will also be nice to have another Warrior around, we have a few other 80 wars in the guild but they tend to play other classes. What weapon sets do you usually run with in WvW?

    Welcome! Glad to have you.
  10. Grats to both of you.
  11. I'm really glad you and Steve started playing again, and I don't regret the immediate pressure I put on Steve to move you guys over to CD so can play with us. Looking at that comment I made about AEON out of context, I probably shouldn't have said it that way... but here are the results I was hoping for! You'll find that SoH is a rare sort of guild - many of our members do not play an MMO if they can not play with other members of SoH, and a new 'Chapter' (if we decide to officially play a new game as a guild we call it a chapter) is an exciting blend of Veterans, current Members, and brand new recruits. And lastly... we DO have another computer... but it freezes a lot in WvW. I'm likely going to suck it up for another few months before we go out and buy a new laptop to fix the problem. I still spend a decent amount of time trying to troubleshoot the laptop, it hasn't been freezing like this forever.
  12. Dude! Glad to game with you again. It's so much different from the WoW/EVE days, though, hahaha. At one point Steve and I were leveling toons on an Oceanic WoW server. After our morning Army workouts, we'd take turns following the other to leech XP while we showered and ate breakfast, to sneak in every possible point of XP before we had to go to work. It was an addiction, no doubt about it.
  13. That was a very in-depth gaming history man. I'm sorry to hear that FFN had problems, it's always sad to see a guild fall apart. I love the Avatar animated series, whenever my kids are watching it I have trouble concentrating on what I'm doing. You'll find that we WvW multiple times a week, and when we do, we are organized and effective.
  14. Hey man, glad to have you. I've had game development on the brain, I bought the PC version of 'Game Dev Tycoon' from the guys over at Green Heart Games. They caught my eye after a blog post where they created and seeded their own crack, but in the cracked version of the game (in an impressive display of irony) piracy would eventually drive the player into bankruptcy every game. Fera or Huntyre can fix you up with forum access and either those two, myself, or Atrael can get you an invite. I'll be a bit late to reset tonight due to a fancy Army party, but Huntyre will be there. We have organized PvP/WvW Thursday PM, Friday PM, Saturday AM & PM, Sunday afternoon, and Monday PM. Check out the events subforum for more details.
  15. I don't mind giving you another trial period, but you'll need to step up your own level of effort as a player and as a guild member. When you first joined us you had never been in WvW, but you expressed interest in going there. Did you do any research on WvW? Look at the maps? Learn some of the basics? Everyone in SoH, myself included, is willing to help and to teach, but that doesn't mean we should need to explain things easily available on the wiki or even in these forums. You'll also need to have a presence in /g chat and on the boards. You posted 8 times before this thread, and 2 of those 8 were on your app thread. Most of my communication with you was through whispers, and I rarely saw you talking in /g chat. How are we to learn about you if you're not communicating with the guild? You seem to have realized how great our little community is here. Unfortunately, to maintain this community, we need to be picky about the sort of people we bring in. You have to show us that you want to be one of us, and we have to get to know you well enough to know that you belong here.
  16. Yeah I was just wondering what your main's in-game name is so one of us can look you up later for an invite. I should also ask, what hours do you normally play?
  17. Hey there, glad to have you. I'm 100% positive that we have more than zero people online every night, hahaha. Is Johnamis your IGN?
  18. Hi, welcome to the boards. I'm an amateur history buff myself, I'm planning a trip this summer to be there for the Gettysburg 150th. I won't be wearing a wool uniform in the Pennsylvania summer heat though...
  19. Hello and welcome. Looking forward to gaming with you. I hope you like WvW, we do it alllll weekend long.
  20. This. I have a switch that flips when I leave the base and walk into my house. It's necessary.
  21. Thanks, and welcome. I've invited you to the in-game guild but I don't have (or don't know how) to give you recruit forum access. They're also going to give a post sort of like this one...
  22. Hey man. Glad to see you decided to drop an application. Can you expand with a little more information about yourself? Where are you from, what do you do for a living, what would you do if you had your own personal stealth fighter? South of Heaven is a tight-knit group and we like to get to know our recruits.
  23. Hey man, welcome. I'm the PvP officer for the GW2 chapter. We do organized WvW runs Thursday - Sunday, but if you'd like some time with me to learn the basics let me know and we can make it happen. I'm not going to try and pronounce 'Muerte Jefe', nor will I call you 'Death Boss'. I think I'll shorten your name to DB. :) Easier to remember and less embarrassing to try and pronounce, hahaha.
  24. Glad to see that you applied. Now you won't have to follow us around tagless any more.
  25. Hey Dire, welcome. I also really enjoyed the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels, even though I only was able to get through three of them before I had to give the books back. I'm the PvP officer and I lead most of our PvP events. There's a ton of information in the forums about our WvW activity and some of the maneuvers we try. Looking forward to seeing you in WvW!
