  1. I have altered my "main" from Manifold, level 50 Mechari Medic Explorer, to Artifice, level 50 Cassian Stalker Scientist.
  2. Loved it, signed it, signed it again.
  3. peaked --> piqued Damn foreigners MalaSHITE~ I don't know this guy, but if I did I would say he's SUPER dedicated to his communities and loves cats. I even got him one, cause I'm a nice guy. He also likes cars, especially if they're being driven by the aforementioned cats.
  4. I can answer at least one of these questions: I am the friend that recommended him to the guild because I'm just assuming you guys are the bestest. Operon and I met in a military-styled clan in Tribes in 1998, I was the division leader and after a general meet and greet we dueled each other for about 3 hours into the wee hours. Eventually we both moved on from that game but we got the band back together for Tribes 2 and we met in person when I let him take a pit stop on my couch during a very long road trip. Fast forward several years and I'm best man at his wedding and he flies out to my bachelors pad for LAN marathons schedules permitting. He is an intolerably nice guy and a very good gamer (but he has a steep learning curve at the outset). He also love theorycraft and min/max and honestly believes every single game should have permadeath, because permadeath makes everything more fun.
  5. “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” Tribes Ascend wasn't bad (while it lasted) and I remember looking at a lot of LoS screenshots of content that I was unlikely to see anytime soon, definite kudos.
  6. Welcome Oxi! I miss pulling mechanics a little as well, it still applies to most mmo's but since they started leashing groups together (think it was DAoC that did that first..?) it's usually fight or flight. Also, the frantic urgency of a "runner." I haven't seen a lot of "mez" abilities in Wildstar, are there many/any? Tangent. Are you also a fan of UT or Tribes?
  7. Never read the Dresden Files but Codex Alera is a really great series, much agreed. Mistborn series is fairly similar in quality/style to that if you ever run out of Butcher. No He-Man love? Although the whole internet has probably already seen the 3 non blondes He-man, maybe one of you hasn't:
  8. Welcome! I love Mass Effect too-- which one was your favorite and why? I gotta say #1 myself, no rollover rover!
  9. It's been a while since I thought in depth about those MUDs, but now that you mention it I DO recall that-- they'd just be able to heal themselves slightly faster but they could basically regrow limbs. And you'd have 12-15 rogues in the shadows in one room trying to pickpocket the same npc for hours whispering to each other. Things sure have changed, but then I remember when you paid several gold for bronze armor in original EQ and you'd have to have a whole set of gear for fighting back to where your corpse was, and a whole NOTHER set that was character bound in PvP because otherwise people could loot every item you had equipped. First thing you'd do in a open world pvp fight was bag all of your items, and this was before macros my friends-- there was never a more frantic inventory management scenario Ya'll kids these days get spoonfed I tells ya! This is why I'm looking forward to WildStar too, it's supposed to be HARD and skill based. GIFs aren't great for all communication, I just think they're like evolved smiley faces. I am reading the Atopia Chronicles and it's pretty good so far, but I recommend Blood Song, The Warded Man and The name of the Wind if anyone here is into fantasy reads. I just moved to Colorado from LA and it's great, I like mountains on my horizons. The most memorable MMO moment I had was probably in EQ: we had cleared about half of plane of fear (pre-expansions) and had another guild port in and start hunting us. Their monks/necros tried to train trash mobs and wipe us so we had to keep mass logging out and back in, then we all logged into the middle of their guild and had an epic 40v40 PvP battle that was sheer pandemonium. It soon splintered in 3v4 type skirmishes on the fringes, meanwhile Cazic Thule (raid boss) was shouting random peoples name and insta-summoning and slaughtering them throughout. Our guild officer group that I was in just barely survived but their guild got wiped out-- however all the trash respawn prevented us from doing much but corpse dragging and leaving. All the while I'm blasting Don't Stop Me Now by Queen.
  10. Conan, what is best anime in life? And Welcome, of course!
  11. Hey does anyone know how rough it will be to tradecraft as an Architect? And it won't be BYOB, I'll just get the Lopp party plug
  12. Re: Sw vs ST FFIV hmmm I guess I liked Cecil/Rydia the most —you know after she got all pixel-hot in the Land of Monsters, and Rosa was a buzzkill. If you haven't downloaded the ROM or bought the iOS app for FFV then I highly recommend you try it out. Guess those japanese guys thought all us Americans wouldn't want such gooey RPG goodness or something.
  13. I usually go by Manifold (reserved) or Zed as a handle, but if you’re jonesin for a real-ish name then Zach it is. This Zach guy is 30 and lives in Colorado, and he believe GIFs should replace every text message ever. In the dawn of my subjective reality I peered into the mirror and saw a gamer. I’m not bragging when I say I’ve probably played double or triple the number of games as most gamers; artifacts of a misspent youth. I played all the NES games when I was very young but it was FFIV that roped me into bathing in the glow of a TV until the sun came up. In the MMO scene: I played Gemstone 3 and Dragonrealms MUDs to start, skipped UO, played EverQuest from Beta through PoP (Raiding/PvP Server) — quick aside — this allows me to start many sentences with “well back in my day…”. I was an officer in a couple guilds on that and had was a competitive Clan leader in Tribes/Tribes2. Played AO, EQ2, Neverwinter, DDO, DAoC, GW, GW2, AC, FFXIV, FFXI, Rift, Vanguard, Lineage, ESO, Warhammer Online, WoW (beta through BC), SWG, SWTOR (hardcore PvP), Planetside, and… who knows how many more. This paragraph is boring sleeptime but I wanted to provide some gaming background. I checked out a bunch of guilds on the WS forums and you guys seem like the right margarita mix of community and commitment; more recently I haven’t guilded up much in MMO’s or done so casually but I’m excited enough about Wildstar that I’ll play it more than the 2 months or so I dabble in most MMOs. Things I’m looking forward to most in Wildstar are Housing and PvP (like a bunch of bunches). I plan on doing a DPS Mechari Medic with a Cassian esper alt. I really wanted to play Chua for the slight “small guy” pvp advantage but I tried it and wanted to chew my own face off then incinerate my retinas. I am also going to build the coolest and most polygonal-overload of a housing plot ever, and you’re invited.
