A little about me!!!

In west Philadelphia born and raised, On the playground where I spent most of my days, Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool, And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school, When a couple of guys, they were up to no good, Started making trouble in my neighbourhood, I got in one little fight and my mom got scared, And said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-air"

I whistled for a cab and when it came near the License plate said "fresh" and had a dice in the mirror, If anything I could say that this cab was rare, But I thought nah, forget it, yo homes to Bel-air!

Work at the department of transportation in DC for a section called FMCSA. 4 kids, 1 wife, 1 dog (dog is separate from the wife, just clarifying)

Why am I applying?

Well we all make wonderful mistakes in this game. I was in a 25 man guild named VEX on Gorefiend. During HOF our raid leader/ guild leader quit and went on to greener pastures. The officer that took over just wasn't quite the same guy. We suffered through Tier 14 and during that time I was doing 10 man's on the weekend to actually progress. My 10 man was able to clear 14/14hm (we would do different instances each week to not mess up the 25 man) while the 25 was stuck on 9. We started to struggle this tier so a bunch of us decided to make a 10 man. Everything was lined and the GM already knew about it. However what we didn't know is he was begging people to stay and while 8 of us left the others decided to stay practically screwing up our 10 man. O well life goes on. We tried to scrap a few people together but we have come to the conclusion it would be better if we just scratched it all together and find different guilds. Phew *stretching fingers*1

My history of the game?

I have played this game since UBRS was a 10 man. In other words I am a Vanilla baby and have played it since then. When I think back to past progression I have cleared every instance that came at me with the except of 2. Tier 3 Naxx (There just wasn't enough time to complete it), and Sunwell. I'm not sure why Mount Hyjal isn't showing up in my history but I did that when it was current also. I also am an old school general where you had to grind point after point each week to get your ranks.

I am currently only 1/13HM but have experience on 5/13HM. I understand you guys may be further but I know these fights, I have watched them all dozens of times and I am a great listener and quick learner.

Why <South of Heaven>?

There are two main reasons.

Number 1 - Ashin wrote "And we are desperately seeking our moonkin. Make my dreams come true?". How can you say no to that. I'm not here to make someone upset and ruin their dreams lol.

Number 2 - The 9 hours per week is really exciting. I'm not a big fan of 6 days a week bashing your head in until you finally get the shit down. I have a life, I have a family, I like to see the sun, the moon, and the stars. And I also like my weekends.

What do I play?

I have played all four specs of this class, through the years, and have loved them all. Nothing has taken my breath away quick like my boomkin though. When wow first came out I wanted to play something that could play multiple roles. However I was such a noob that I didn't know you could change specs, so I ended up leveling my druid up as resto, and no I didn't dungeon grind. I played resto because moonkin wasn't really viable and Feral did not have the gear. Eventually feral became a little viable during BWL but I still stayed resto. At some point I went into kitty and then followed it up with tanking but for the past few years I have been a moonkin trying to learn this craft. Many people think a boomkin is an easy class to play. Well technically it is, all classes are easy, but a boomkin is hard to master. You have to properly line your cd's up to make them effective otherwise you just wasted them.

Miscellanious?

I enjoy reading logs and trying to better myself, I know you have a boomkin already in FulgShift so I will always be looking at both of ours to see how I can better myself and perhaps work together to get the most dps (with survivability) that we can.

Thanks for reading application. I look forward to your questions.

In case you didn't notice this is the same format as FulgShift....Us boomkins have to stick together...0 points for originality I know

Edit: Almost forgot Real ID: Evilsquirél#1845

Welcome to the forums, like The fresh prince refrence. We have a few basic questions

1. What is your favorite color?

2. Do you drink?

3. Do you PVP?

4. How do you feel abotu combining alcohol & PVP?

5. Can you crack a walnut with your glutes?

My only concern is your name, having the numbers after Marine makes you look like a bot!

That isn't my name lol that was just my username for these forums. My name is evilsquirel but I'll have to come up with a new name if I get accepted.

1. What is your favorite color? - Blue

2. Do you drink? my drinking days are far and few in between

3. Do you PVP? - I have taken last season and this season off, it just seems like the same ol' shit year after year. (Sorry if you are a pvp'r) World PVP I don't mind at all though.

4. How do you feel about combining alcohol & PVP? - alcoholPVP. The word doesn't really make sense. Just kidding, whatever floats your boat but for me if I'm drinking I'm sure as hell not gonna be sitting in my house at a computer desk.

5. Can you crack a walnut with your glutes? - Is this a "Do you lift" reference? lol. I try to keep nuts out of my ass sorry :(

Hello, I enjoyed the Fresh Prince reference, but I wish you would have said more about yourself. Unless, of course, you are actually Will Smith.

Also you state that you enjoy reading logs, but provide us with no logs to peruse. /scratchhead. We enjoy digging through logs too!

Yes I have seen through previous people's posts that you love logs lol.

http://worldoflogs.com/guilds/133631/calendar/04-13/ Before April 16th

http://worldoflogs.com/guilds/272658/ OUr lil 10 man

The reason why I didn't post them earlier and was hesitant is because I have been raid leading for the past, I don't know how many months. Its safe to say you may miss a rotation etc due to watching timers, calling people out, and directing everyone. Not making excuses but know that I would be better than the logs show numbers wise.

Howdy Mike:

I'm Fulg! You stole my application format! You seem like a good guy, so I'll let that slide. First off, thank you for putting some time into your application. It's good to see personality and effort. As Mork mentioned, we'll definitely want to see a screenshot of your UI in raid combat. It shows a lot about a person to see what add-ons they're using (or not using), key bindings, etc.

I went ahead and found your epeenbot: http://raidbots.com/...nd/evilsquirél/ Based on your most recent post, this appears to be from your old guild. I definitely understand about a raid leading past. I RL'ed for over two years and we have several raiders with similar (if not more) experience there. As I'm sure you have seen from other posts, I'm not concerned about perfect play. I want to see the basics of boomchickens down pat, I want to see solid survivability across the board, correct usage of offensive and defensive CDs and even some utility spell usage. With that background set, let's evaluate some of your logs! I'm going to go ahead and start by using your most recent logs and then some of your older 25m ones.

5/7 H Jin: 91.7% / 88.1% uptimes, not the best for this type of fight. You're using NV, which I usually will bombard people about (it's really simply not very good any more), but given that the fight only lasted four minutes for your guild, it's a little excusable. I do not think the difference between HotW and NV is going to be all that much for you. I see no potion usage at all. What gives? I understand this is a farm fight, but always use your DPS CDs! I'm a little concerned about the fact that you're staying in Eclipses for a very long time. I'm guessing this is during the Ball Lightning phases, were you out of range of the boss? Only one use of Barkskin, you did use Tranquility, and no use of Stampeding Roar. Do you usually wait for your RL'er (if it's not you) to call out these abilities or do you use them proactively?

5/7 H Horridon wipes: Looking at overall survivability, and yours is near the bottom of your raid team. It looks like you died several times from face-tanking mobs (I've been known to do this on occasion) and died to Dire Call several other times. Evaluating one of those attempts, I see that you did not pop any defensive CDs at all during the fight. In fact, looking at your entire night of Horridon wipes...you used Barkskin exactly zero times. You're using Tranquility a lot, you're using Solar Beam correctly, but not popping this essential defensive ability even once. Very perplexing. As you might imagine, I also confused about using NV here. Can you tell me why you decided to go with it over HotW? Your DoT uptimes are all over the map as well.

5/8 N Megaera: Just looking at another "easy" fight for DoT uptimes and defensive CD use. Your DoT uptimes are, quite frankly, very bad. 78.5% / 76.6%. As an example, on our Heroic Megaera kill this week, I was more than 10% higher on both DoTs and obviously had to compete with a lot more of the mechanics going on. What are you using to track your DoTs? This is why a UI screenshot is so important. 2 uses of Barkskin only (for I believe 4 or 5 rampages).

I'll say to your credit that your survivability on your Heroic Tortos attempts on 5/8 was the second-best in your raid group. Older 25m logs incoming:

4/16 H Jin: 88.6% / 87.6%. Mehhhhhh, still not close to our magic 95% threshold. Good CD usage, other than again no potion. Only one use of Barkskin again.

Unfortunately, this is all I have time to glance at, as dinner must be prepared before raid time tonight for us. Overall, I have some concerns that I seemingly have with a lot of boomkin apps: you're largely getting the "grand scheme" of things, but not executing them to a degree that is necessary for heroic and progression raiding. I'd really like to know why you're using NV so much, for instance. But beside all of those concerns...what makes you stand-out as a boomkin? Give me a parse or an example that really shows what you're all about. It doesn't even need to be DPS-related. What is going to separate you from any other applicant or boomkin?

And if you really think that the RL'ing has had a negative impact (there's no denying that it can)...run a LFR and post the logs from it. Ultimately, our judgment of your logs will only get us so far, as you probably know. But I think I'm personally looking to see a boomkin that exhibits at least a few logs that shows he or she "gets it" with being a boomkin and puts the whole package (DPS, defensive, utility) together.

Thanks for applying and good luck with the rest of your application!
