Hello everyone, my name is Jareth, I'm 25 and I play a Feral Druid on the Kil'Jaeden server. I'm looking for a heroic progression guild with a good environment. As much as I love killing Internet dragons, if I'm raiding with people I hate the game would quickly begin to feel like a job, and you seem like a decent group of people from what I've seen so far.

World of Logs:

Logs from our raids on Kil'Jaeden after our recent transfer: http://www.worldoflo.../guilds/271658/

Logs from our raids on Laughing Skull (April and back): http://www.worldoflo...calendar/04-13/

Past raiding experience:

Burning Crusade:

-Full clear of tier 4 and 5, and cleared up to Brutallus pre-3.0 in tier 6 on my Warlock.

Wrath of the Lich King: All content cleared on my Paladin

-Full clear of tier 7, plus Sartharion 3 drake

-Full clear of Ulduar normal, plus a handful of Ulduar hard modes.

-Full clear of tier 9 10 man heroic, plus 10 man Tribute to Insanity, and 4/5 clear on 25 man heroic tier 9.

-11/12 heroic tier 10 progression, and I chose to retire because of burnout before my guild full-cleared heroic Icecrown Citadel

I took a break during Cataclysm, and then came back for Mists of Pandaria sometime in January of this year.

Pandaland: On my Feral Druid

Tier 14: I only cleared a handful of normal and heroic tier 14 bosses. I started raiding only a few weeks before Throne of Thunder was released.

Tier 15: 12/12 normal and 3/13 heroic Throne of Thunder.

About me:

I work for the Unemployment Office in Pennsylvania as a UC Claims Examiner, and I spend a ton of my free time playing way too many computer games than is good for me. I love to joke and have a good time, and when I'm not killing Internet dragons, I'm usually either playing League of Legends or whatever rage-inducing mutliplayer game my friends have talked me into trying this week, or going out with my friends and chilling out. In a raid environment, I love to joke and have a good time in vent, but I'm also more than capable of putting my serious face on.

I've raided as a caster DPS, tank, and two different melee DPS, all at a competitive level, and I have experience as an officer and raid leader in a few different guilds. I don't stand in fire, always try to play my class to its maximum potential, and I enjoy progressing, and I am not terrible at World of Warcraft. I

If you have any questions feel free to hit me up, I hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Jareth and thanks for the app. I will ask.. Dar to look over your logs. He is our tank but is probably the most familiar with Feral.

Since you've played several different classes, I'd like to know why you settled on Feral? What are the pro's and con's of bringing a Feral to my raid team? Can you give me specific examples of ways in which you used the spec's utility to aid your team during heroic progression this tier?

Your user interface.. I literally cannot see your character because of how you have your DBM timers and cooldowns. How do you watch your feet and avoid environmental damage with the entirety of your center field of vision blocked by UI elements?

Along the same lines: why have your mana gains displayed on top on your character as feral? For an element of my UI to be that close to the center of my screen it would have to be amazingly important information. I just don't see how that is anything but visual noise.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I moved the DBM timers from over my character just because I found them annoying, but to be completely honest I have not had a problem with standing in things with the way my UI is configured.

As for my mana gains, all of my notifications of that type (energy gain, etc.) are displayed in that area, and I don't really have issues with processing a lot of information on my screen.

Also, sorry for not answering your first question. I settled for Feral Druid because it's a lot harder to play than Ret is and still was, and Feral Druid brings a lot of utility in terms of battle res, offspec heals (especially when using Heart of the Wild + Tranquility), plus simple "clutch" things like going bear form and taunting in the event of untimely tank deaths. Also, with the large amount of defensive cooldowns and self-heals, Feral Druids are surprisngly self-sufficient in terms of keeping themselves alive in high-damage encounters.

The cons, however, are that Feral's sustained DPS is not on par with a lot of pure DPS classes (Rogues being the prime example of a melee that simply does more damage), and the spec is lacking in terms the of quality-of-life talents/abilites that let a Rogue do more damage in more situations.

Hello there!

I apologize for not getting to this sooner. Part of the delay is because I'm relatively unfamiliar with current cat theory and part is because I've never been the fastest at looking at logs. I see that you seem to rank on WoL pretty regularly, and your uptimes look quite good. Notable is your 13th rank on Iron Qon with a Rip uptime of 66%! This perplexed me at first but what I take away from that is that you've done a good job of finding out how to make dps happen outside the box of a typical rotation. That or perhaps you were cycling through bosses so fast that every third Rip or so involved a fresh target? ;) I noticed that our most recent IQ kill was a nine-minute kill while your rank came on a kill that lasted only 6:49, so it stands to reason that you'd be swapping targets quite a bit more frequently. Or is it because more and more progression guilds are moving on to the heroic version of that fight? I'd say it's a combination of those, but glancing through what you've posted to WoL I think it's pretty safe to say that you play quite a solid DPS.

Moving onto a couple snapshots of your defensive cooldown usage: On April 4th (which appears to be the night your guild finished its H Ji-Kun progression) I see five uses of barkskin over ten total pulls. A little dismayed, I decided to go and look to see how many times Quills attempted to hit you.... and I found that the log shows Quills only about 100 instances of interacting with you throughout the night, as opposed to your logger Cason who shows over 300 such events. Since quills hits everything in the room, I'm going to go ahead and assume that you used roughly 2x the defensive cooldowns that the log shows, because you would have been out of range for it to record you for a decent portion of the fight. 10 uses of Barkskin over 10 attempts is still quite low, but I might have yelled at you for five! :p I also see only one Survival Instincts throughout the night, but as it is a 3-minute cooldown I find it a difficult thing for which to correct by using other bits of the log; even so I feel I should see more than that during heroic progression.

Using the same logic as in the previous paragraph, I went to your previous night where you had 16 attempts on Ji-Kun. For this night I see only four uses of Barkskin and no Survival Instincts at all. This is a very easy way to reduce the damage you're taking, particularly during encounters where you know when the damage is coming (Quills). This pattern is actually borne out by your Jin'rokh progression as well. 15 Barkskins and 4 Survival Instincts over 26 attempts is pretty low.

Quickly back to Jin'rokh, I see only 33 instances of Focused Lightning over 26 attempts (less than two ticks per pull as a melee seems pretty good), and your damage taken from Lightning Diffusion is among the bottom three of the raid (basically tied for 2nd-to-last). Good work not taking avoidable damage.

Overall: Your dps looks good. Defensive cooldown usage could use some work, and I didn't see any glaring raid awareness issues or massive amounts of avoidable damage.

Cheers!
