That was the last time I tanked a 25m raid. The group I ran with fell apart at Freya and we all just went out separate ways. I played a shadow priest off and on in wrath and tanked ICC10 (h) on my prot palladin due to the nerf to dodge for ICC coupled with our OT at the time was a druid so that made a little too much healing on just the tanks. Computer Specs:I run an ASUSCG5210 with an i7 processor. nVIDIA G-force 560ti gpu 12 gB RaM 1 TB hard Drive I have my FPS throttled to 50 fps I am currently on my laptop or I'd have linked the information straight from the PC.. Able to raid later during progression:I have flexible working hours as long as it's not till 2 or 3 am every night I'll be fine. Sit out for progression:Not at all. I will work with the tank that doesn't sit to ensure I know what I would have to do if they're absent. Past Guilds:No Clue US Burning Legion Server has fallen to nearly no population so losing 3 people shut the 10 man group I ran down. We managed to get to 1/13 even though we had to replace 60% of our raid team from the start of t14 to when we called it quits on t15. Halfway to Heroic I lead a raid group and after suffering abuse from other members of the guild the members of my raid team asked me to form our own guild. Personal Information: I started playing World of Warcraft at the end of BC after a friend finally convinced me to try it. I fell in love with the social atmosphere. I have more than 50 real id friends that now are spread out over several servers due to migration of a dead realm. I have always tanked, though in Cataclysm I was able to lead an alt raid on my rogue for the daggers but tanking is still my love. I have a 500 ilevel guardian on SR and a new 90 protadin on BL plus a pwarrior and bmaster on BL that I'm leveling in my free time. Bad news time: I've tanked mainly 10 mans since our server population was dwindling and maintaining a huge roster to support 25s became impossible. However, I don't think the adjustment for me will be near as large because as you can see in my logs I've focused less on DPS and more on my self heals and survival. In t14 we were able to 2 heal most fights because I healed enough to be a "3rd" healer and that free'd up a healer to dps so we could make up for really lackluster dps overall. Even if I don't fit in with your guild I would be thrilled if I could get a real id request from your prot warrior because I love bouncing ideas off accomplished tanks. All except 2 weeks on torotos where we wanted to see if I could rank and put me in dps gear all haste gems. (10m bored fun time). We were constantly pugging in sub par dps and carrying them (even h jin) and so progression was not an option. What drew you to blood DK and what keeps you there? What draws a moth to a flame? It just felt so natural from the first time I picked it up. On spirit kings the running bet was with our healers of who could I out-heal. I beat every healer we ran except for our resto shaman and got to withing 400k of him once. How do you compare its strengths/weaknesses vs. your bear and prot pally? All 3 are very much part of the active mitigation of tanking now. However, I think the DKs strength lies in it's magic reduction benefits; i.e. Jin'Rohk I'm able to prevent an application of Static Shock by using my AMS. IBF especially glyphed allows you to mitigate some of the high spike damage such as talon rake; but the lack of a physical shield to block leads to some periods of OMG I'm gonna get my teeth kicked in compared to my palladin. The druid well god when you dodge over 1/2 the attacks it's a great feeling but when you don't you take it on the nose. What interests you about our guild in particular? I've missed 25m raiding and after trolling your forums (the ones I could see) I really like the effort you put forth to make everyone feel at home and safe (sexual harassment policy). (Do you have a battle tiger?) I bought the green and orange shadow pan tiger just to remind me of Cringer/Battle-cat. The name has a story behind it which i'll have to tell you sometime. Just to be crystal clear, can you clarify that our Tues schedule of 9pm to 12am EST will not conflict with your son's bowling. Ashin Posted June 4, 2013 Report Share Posted June 4, 2013 We award our "on time" bonus, and typically begin clearing trash, at 8:50 EST. So that's something to consider. We're very strict about both our start and our stop times. That is just part of the mental discipline needed in order to pull off the progression we have on a 9 hour week. You tagged a decent number of kills in Dragon Soul, but not much before or after that in your armory. For various reasons I consider heroic progression to be very different from normal modes. I have logged heroic kills when I've been with a group capable of progression. I have a short learning curve and spend around 15+ hours researching and talking strats over with people who live for this. I'm ready to tank for you guys because I've had a 25m mentality to tanking all along. I view my personal survival as paramount to my success. You've got me intrigued so far. But as Ashin said, the logs will show the goods, hopefully you've got em. Few things before I attack your logs. Your UI seems to be lacking quite a bit of what I would consider essential information. How are you tracking your Blood Shields? What is that scowling face up at the top of your screen? How are you tracking uptime/availability of Bone Shield? What are you using to track CDs on your Runes? It seems you're tanking a hefty pile of mobs, where your main target is not currently in front of you. What steps do you take to ensure you don't have mobs hitting you in the back when you tank packs? Also, that hefty pile of mobs is attacking you and you don't have any CDs running, at least as far as I can tell, it looks like all of them are available to be used and nothing is showing up in your buffs and on top of that it seems you have no Death Runes currently available. Any commentary on that scenario? From your recount meter it seems you're being dominated in healing/absorbs by the other DK, whats going on there? You are considerably under Hit and Expertise caps, why? I see that you've upgraded several pieces of gear with Valor points, but also have equipped your Jade Warlord figurine, whats the story (morning glory)? Scowling face is my vengeance counter it displays my current vengeance. My vengeance will determine whether I reaply my disease or just refresh them. 3. Bone Shield will be on a icon much like the vengeance I didn't have it enabled apparently on that pull. 4. I haven't liked any of the bars I've tried so far to track runes if you have one you suggest and can help me configure it so it's not just a large meaningless blob I'd love you for life. 5. Keeping mobs in front of me is usually my #1 priority when they get behind me I solve that either by moving or using RW to freeze them so I can put them on my front again. 6-7. yeah that's my bad. I'll post a new picture from a real raid situation. I just popped into LFR to get my screen shot. Didn't do anything else just print screen and left. I have recently reworked my entire UI so I had no screenshots of it. 8. I just needed to reforge after adding a piece of gear last raid. 9.
