Danoman
To start things off, I'd like to say "HELLO!" and say thank you all for looking at my application. It's an honor and a privilege to have the chance to talk to you and to tell you who I am and why I'd LOVE the opportunity to join your guild! To start things off, I'm going to put up some information about my character and my raiding experience. I'm a relatively new player, so my raiding experiences are "semi limited", however, in the short amount of time I've played this game, I feel that I've accomplished quite a bit. But first to tell you about my character! Name: Danoman Class/Spec(s): Death Knight/Unholy-Frost-Blood (currently carrying an Unholy and Blood spec as I was the third tank on Heroic Primordius for my current guild. Armory: http://us.battle.net...anoman/advanced Logs: http://www.worldoflo...e=13110#Danoman http://www.worldoflo...&e=6723#Danoman http://www.worldoflo...&e=3680#Danoman Screenshots (blood and unholy): http://imgur.com/bASWu1S,AZiahmA Relevant raiding experience: Cataclysm - 8/8H t13 MOP - 13/16H t14 (bosses missed are Amber Shaper, Empress, and Tsulong) 8/13H t15 I love my Death Knight...it's my pride and joy in this game. I only started raiding in cataclysm..I had minimal experience and it was an extremely casual event. I believe I got through 5 hardmode bosses or so while they were current, but the group was really inconsistent. In firelands, I cleared normals then I had to take a break for school purposes because I scheduled a class at a really bad time for raiding...a mistake that I have not made since and will not make again. Worst semester ever. ANYWAY, I came back at the beginning of DS, geared myself back up, and started raiding again. Managed to pull off 8/8H despite having some pretty bad people that we were carrying really hard. I was promoted to "recruitment officer" because the GM believe that I had good knowledge of the game and a good work ethic (which I do). I recruited a lot of people and was able to raise the guild's overall rank from world 6k to about world 2.5k in one tier of raiding. However, by the end of that tier (t14 at this point), I was getting frustrated at some of the attitudes that were at work and a blatant disregard for performance so I stepped down from my officer position and I joined Warfare. With Warfare, I had my best raiding experience...coming together as a guild/raid group to kill Heroic Sha of Fear three hours before 5.2. It was such an exhilarating experience, and is the main contributing factor to why I have given warfare so many chances to be what it was. Now a bit about me...I'm a 21 year old caucasian male that goes by the name "Dan" (hence my character name...creative, I know), and I currently attend Boston University studying music performance focusing on Trombone. Trombone is my passion...my way to express emotions that words cannot...let out all of my positive or negative feelings and just relax. It fulfills the creative side of my person while wow takes care of the logic and mathematical based parts of me. I'm VERY passionate about sports...especially Boston sports. Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots...you name it, I'm a fan. I am currently only employed under the table, and have very flexible hours for making money in my real life....so keeping up my subscription is very easy for me while being able to spend much time doing the required research for my class and for boss fights. I would like to finish up by saying, thank you all for reading my application, and I hope that you will consider me for a spot on your team! Looking forward to answering your questions! Cheers, Danoman Battletag: Danoman#1950
Estarriol
Ooh, musician! Welcome to the forums. I really liked all of the colors you put in. And the musician part. I played trombone briefly in high school, but my passion is percussion. What is your favorite genre to play?
Thebloom
Well, my recommendation here's akin to what I gave Xaris, as Mr. Dan here was also a former guildie of mine. During the beginning of our H Sha progression, Danoman was given very little time to prove himself, as he joined our previous guild a mere two weeks after I joined. At the time, we wanted to keep the same team that killed H Tsulong as intact as possible because we wanted everyone to be in the same page on Heroic Sha. So taking in Dano was a huge risk...and well, of course, he surpassed everyone's expectations. He's very adaptive to fights, as he's very quick in assessing what's needed not just from himself as a raider, but for the benefit of the raid group. Correct me if I'm wrong Dano, but I remember you were the one who suggested to spec into Chillbains to the DKs in our raid to slow those damn Heroic Sha adds. On our ToT progression fights, Dano put most of our melees to shame with his DPS. He did have some trouble (as with most melees I imagine) with Horridon, in trying to avoid sands/poison puddles at first, but he quickly adjusted and was at the top of the charts (legit, no scumbagging) on our H Horridon progression kill. Finally, I think SoH's best asset as a guild is its raid/guild environment, and Danoman's a perfect fit for SoH. Very easy going guy, funny and just an all around solid player and guildmate. Negido
Welcome to the forums! You're looking dapper today. 1. What's your favorite food? 2. Have you ever befriended a walrus and/or narwhal? 3. What color of the rainbow causes you the most distress? 4. <3 -Negido
Ashin
It's a very colorful app! Some folks might find the pink text a bit hard to read. I'll have something more constructive to say when I'm not trying to get out of the office on a Friday; welcome!
Danoman
@Estarriol - Thanks for the first response, and it's ALWAYS a pleasure to hear from a fellow, musically inclined person. I'm currently training to be an orchestral trombonist, so I'm training classically, however, on the occasion that I am offered a jazz gig, I can break out the good ol' jazz chops and hold my own. Also, I'm glad you liked the colors, I wanted to do something to make my application stand out a bit more than the standard black and white. @Bloom - My friend! Thank you for the kind words, I'm very glad to see your post here. Yes on H Sha I suggested the chilblains route...which ended up helping quite a bit. I also suggested chilblains on H tortos to help with bat slows for our kiting strat...or at least I told myself that's what I was doing when I was really just padding...tehehe. @Negido - Hello! Thanks for your response! -My favorite food(s) are all Asian...I really don't have a preference between Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc, I love the cuisine of the orient! -I actually did befriend a walrus once...his name was Jeff, I miss him dearly as I do not see him ever in the city. -Yellow....it hurts my eyes, oh so much. Note that I did not use any yellow on my original post @Ashin - Hello! Yes, my apologies for the pink...the very reason I avoided the yellow, as I told Negido. I can repost the pink sections if I need! looking forward to hearing from you later!
Ashin
Do you know if professor amlin still teaches at SFA? He was my composition instructor and a wonderful musician. I think he also taught some music theory courses as well.
Danoman
He teaches some music theory courses and is also an advisor for composition majors I believe. Though I have never had the good fortune to participate in one of his theory classes, I hear great things about him from my friends that have had the chance to learn from him. Ashin
Aww that makes me happy. Can you PM me his e-mail address? I want to reach out and see how he's been. He was one of the handful of teachers that had a pretty profound effect on me.
