Andrakys Posted April 11, 2013 Report Share Posted April 11, 2013 Hello members of South of Heaven, My name is Michael, I am a 26 year old student in Australia. I tend to play late at night here (after work) and on my usual dragon/event farming route I ran into an enthusiastic gentleman by the name of souls assassin. At the time I was not representing for anyone and we set to talking about the kind of guild SoH is. He directed me to your website and nearly an hour of browsing and 2 missed dragons later I must say that I am impressed. You have a very positive atmosphere to your forums and even serious communications are very .. diplomatic in nature. Messages are conveyed in a very concise manner and it is all rather neatly set out (at least after revisions if the revision notes are to be believed ). At any rate! I digress! I am by no means a hard core player - most of my time is consumed by study, work and two ferocious children intent on destroying this house with their cute little fists of rage. I have previously been an active long term member of a family guild in WOW - Chairman of the Horde (hope you guys were horde >.>). Unfortunately our guild did not survive the migration to Guildwars 2 and only a small fragment - our tiny family guild (WOLF) named after and run by my father made it. It consists of literally my family and our respective partners and the ghosts of guild members lost. It is for the most part a placeholder and way to chat to each other and stay in touch. I am looking to move into a larger guild that has the right atmosphere and is ok with the fact that I play obscure and inconsistent hours. With my work and study roster I am often online when literally no one else is so... it gets lonely heh I have solid communication skills and am generally easy to get along with (>.>) am pretty casual in my approach to gaming as it is supposed to be fun. That being said I am still reasonably active as a player and when able (online) am always happy to participate in guild events. It is getting a bit late here and I seem to be rambling so I may cut this short. I play an 80 warrior and am leveling an elementalist. You'll be glad to know that there are a few late-night folks here, and even one Aussie (Balmain). We don't mind multi-guilding, esp. when it comes to family so feel free to cross rep to visit w/ your folks and such. Of course I'd question consistent, long-term non-repping, but otherwise it's not a problem. Huntyre will get you set up with some links and such which will help you acclimate. I do hope you'll be able to attend guild functions if time permits (you'll find a schedule of weekly events in Activities). I only have one question.... do you enjoy WvW? I'm not certain that we have a presence on the maps during your peak playtime, but if you do enjoy WvW and want to PvP regularly, I can certain hook you up with some allies for you to group with. That is very kind of you and am greatly appreciative of your understanding I am indeed glad to know that there are other night owls around and I do enjoy WvW so it would be nice to have some new faces to run around with. We have a long term Oceanic member who also plays those "odd" hours as well as a couple night owls here state side. While we aren't "hard core", we are avid gamers. We understand school, work, significant others, children, etc... but the bulk of our active members log in daily. What we're currently looking for are a few members who: 1. Log in daily (or very nearly daily) 2. Participate with other member of the guild when possible 3. Have an interest in two of the following (PvE, PvP, WvW) If you think those things describe you, then we should definitely discussing getting you an invitation to the guild and starting the recruitment process.
