Alright. So Porch (Gilthanis) ran with us in Modern. A quick thing to note about the guild hopping... Three of his recent guilds Incite/Endurance/Modern were all the same raid teams. We just changed our name constantly for some reason.

As far as his skill as a raider (imo of course) goes, his dps was always competitive, he was always on time (I can only recall one missed raid), and he was always willing to take on a role that would hurt his personal dps so as to help us achieve a kill. There were some times when his situational awareness (survivability and stacking up) were lacking but after it was brought to his attention he did a great job improving on those aspects. All in all I would say Porch was a excellent asset to our raid team.

Personality wise I think Porch would be a WONDERFUL fit with the general atmosphere of SoH. He was very sociable and friendly in <Modern> and he was an active poster on the forums (both socially and theorycrafting). About the situation in <Modern>... I can safely say that it was not the fault of Porch. I've let you SoH officers know a little about it when I was first applying, but without naming names (I think this server has enough drama as it is), I'd just like to say there were a couple people in the guild making the atmosphere absolutely toxic. When I stepped down from officer there were also a few abrupt changes that didn't go over too well (10 man switch) and caused additional friction. The raid schedule was also up in the air on a weekly basis. It may be advertised that Modern is a 16 hour, 4 day a week guild... But in actuality it was common for our raids to be extended from 4 hours to sometimes 8+ hours. It was also very common for the raid schedule to be changed from 4 days to 5-6 (a couple times even 7) days at any given time.

Porch is an avid streamer (yay more guild exposure), so that UI better look pretty!

As ashin stated we like to see your UI during Raid Combat in both specs please, until then I wont ask questions about your Ui. Thank you for being honest in your response to my 1st question earlier. For now I just ask

• What PC hardware do you currently use for raiding (CPU, GPU, RAM, etc.)?
  

Armory questions:

• Not that its a huge dps increase but giving the fact Rppm goes with haste,and haste > mastery at this point (having 2pc bonus and 2 rppm trinkets) why are you using mastery over haste on your gloves?
  
• You been raiding since 5.2 was release , how far are you in secrets for your Meta, pretty much should have em all or close? Why are you not exalted with black prince yet, as it only took week or so to hit exalted with him?
  
• Looking at your survival glyphs , can you tell me which one your missing that is hurting your dps ?
  

Hunter questions:

• How do you track your ICD's? Which ICD's should you be tracking?
  
• List all the macros you use for dps and explain their use.
  
• Explain your shots priority for both your specs
  

Log questions (wanted see how you do in a heroic environment so I skim through the last two weeks you did heroic bosses)

• Week of 4/9 on Jih rokh you got hit by lighting storm then used rocket boots to get out and died. Are you not watching timer as dbm/big wigs gives you big heads up? Why would use boots over frag bombs, as boots dont always work and frags are dps increase?
  
• On heroic Horridon looks like you died twice to sand traps could you explain what happened here?
  
• 4/11 on heroic Tortos you died couple of times to rockfall and bats. Any reason rockfall was problem? Are you mding bats to the tank , if so what do you use to md? On Bats you could pop so many things to avoid death, such fd, deterrence or use glyph of of misdirect to make your target bigger that gives md no cd.
  
• Any reason on a new heroic progression boss as tortos , why didnt you use 300 food once?

@ Evgeny. I might try another ranged class such as a shaman, esp with the glyph change to ele making lightning bolt usable on the move full time

-Currently I am running And amd 955 processor Oc @ 3.8 ghz, amd 6850 1gb graphics card and 12 gb of ddr3 1333mhz ram. When I relocate I will be switching to a different computer. its specs amd 965 processor Oc (will be at 4.0 ghz) antec liquid cooler, ati 5850 1gb, and 8 gb of corsair 1866mhz, 120gb ssd.

Armory questions:

- Good question. I was talking to kennyloggins about this last week lol. While haste appears to sim over crit for BM, I do not have my meta gem to adequately take advantage of the extra haste. While I have tested it with 2 rppm trinkets and 2 pc. I was not impressed with the reforge. Now running 4 pc and meta soon, This might change.

-So I currently have 17 secrets, and 3 bosses I have not killed this week. So I can safely say that I will have my gem next week as for the rep, I had planed on doing what I did with the other rep, and grind the mobs, I took me about 45 mins last time. I will have that done before reset.

- Well, as far as I know non of our glyphs have any impact on our dps, while no escape increases crit on a frozen target, its pve implications are extremely limited. Other than that, I can safely say no. (unless you are talking about better movement = higher overall damage etc...)

Hunter questions:

- I use need to know to track Icd's. Icds that I typically track. 2pc-4pc as needed, both trinkets. as of now the only thing in my gear with an Icd is my weapon enchant, which I do not track.

-I use 2 MD macros, One for focus target, the other for a predetermined tank.

- I completely rebuild my Ui a week or so ago to ensure I had no issues with timers etc. To be honest I remember this attempt, and It was simply and oversight on my part. while frag bombs might be a dps increase (I didnt know they where off of icd?) I still prefer the utility of rocket boots, as I can think of dozens of circumstances where they saved me/the whole raid, and limited times its killed me.

- The only times I died to horridon to traps was when someone failed a charge, and the tanks had the boss/adds in such an odd location that my camera was stuck in such a location that I could not see my feet lol. I'm sure this has happened to everyone at some point

- The only time I recall dieing to rockfall on tortos was generally a sacrifice thing, rocks where landing on the shell I needed to kick and the timer was coming up (this was also before the movement behavior fix) Most of the time people where good about avoiding shells on the ground so rockfall did'nt kill me but those attempts it appears someone had ran over them right before the timer for breath.

- I normally would use any/all edges to my advantage on a progression kill. Tortos however was never (for us at least) A dps problem, it was a tanks dieing problem, and it happened so frequently that I would literally have gone broke just with food. However if dps had been the issue, I would have used the food every pull.

I wouldn't count on it, we've had some notorious unlucky streaks with people going full clears without a single Secret. Although that does seem to be the exception, good luck with your Secrets!!

Yes I agree that you should go haste over crit having all 4( meta, 2 rppm trinkets and 2 pc bonus) Its pretty much like armor pen back in days where it was only worth going this route if you had high end gear. Going back to my question it wasnt that I wanted or asking you why didnt you reforge all haste but why you using mastery over haste on your enchant to gloves, when haste is better than mastery even if you dont have all 4?

I was hoping you catch this ,had my fingers crossed. Your using glyph of the stampede on bm but not surv. The problem why your hurting survival is because your using 2 exotic pets that can only be used for bm. Meaning when your in survival spec and pop stampede it will only summon pets that are non exotic so technically your missing out on 2 pets and that is gimping the mechanic of the spell big time. Either use the copy glyph for survival or switch out your exotic pets.

Theres few things you didnt mention AMOC, Dire beast, and fervor. As the 1st two ( Amoc and DB) are more dps than GT/barrage

It might save you lets say 80% of the time and 20% it may not but why take the chance, when you just jump and turn and disenage and add more dps to yourself and raid? Can also talent into pothaste for speed burst as well

Yea but one attempt you died early on the fight , on fight where stuffs on ground why wouldnt you move asap as it plays huge role on fights where you have to watch for stuff on the ground? To tell raid I died because of my camera your going to be ask why did u stay there then and Boss mods should give you warning if your standing in stuff I know BIgs wigs for sure does

Fair enough. But how were you dieing to bats, when there so many ways to avoid it?

Its not about just bringing dps but the best you can out of your class. The little more you bring it def shines , especially in progression and why settle for lets say 120kdps , when you can be doing 122k dps lets say. Another example what if the boss is at 3-5% health and you lose 75% - 80% of your raid, every little more you have will help at time like this. I know for us we been there couple of times, matter fact our first heroic Tortos kill we had only like handful of people up at 2-3% , every little bit helps and counts.

-To be honest, I did'nt even realize there was a haste enchant available. I fixed this issue

- When you pop stamped in a spec that cannot control exotic pets, and you have exotic pets in your stable, copys of your current pet will be used in the place of the exotic pets, so you will always have 4+1 pets summoned.

I consider amoc a major cd and did'nt list it as I previously stated. Db would be used on cd ahead of gt. Fervor I use withing 3 secs of it coming off cd, I try to use to either on amoc cd, or at the start of a trinket proc.

I am indeed notified when standing in bad lol, If I remember the attempt I was already low on health when the trap spawned. I honestly believe this was a rare bad luck circumstance that you saw.

-we had 2 hunters running on many of the tortos attempts, head shot was doing all md's while I was doing kicks (md'ing ofc when I could) the only time I died to bats is when I ran barrage, and pulled aggro as they passed by me and I got one shot, or I feigned death and came back up to quickly before aggro was droped. I pvp quite a bit, so its in my instinct to do everything to survive, as I'm sure I did there.
