Wildstar Intro - Sakusami

Hi Everybody,

My name is Sakusami, Saku [sah Coo] for short, and I am a veteran gamer looking for a place to call home within the world of Wildstar. Several of my friends and I are ramping up to play this game, super excited over the multitude of classes and the sheer awesomeness that is the Dominion. Personally I love the Stalker. My friends, Oxidius, Vansung, and Imobilefiber have already applied to SoH and have done nothing but talk about how great the guild is non-stop; I need to be a part of this.

So for a little background on me, I am about to turn 27, and have been gaming for nearly 24 of those years. I work in the IT field with Oxidius, take martial arts from Vansung, and have been in the military for about 8 years as well [which I am still an active reservist]. I grew up loving RPGS, and as a gamer who got his start on the console, I loved the FF games, moving to Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Link and Zelda:LttP, Legend of Dragoon, Vagrant Story, and a laundry list of other survival horror, action, adventure, and rts games. I would often sit with my friends as a teenager, playstations linked via link cable, tvs turned away, two PS1s spinning at full blast with Command and Conquer Red Alert blaring through our speakers in a massive 2 v ALL skirmish that would last hours. I made my foray into computer gaming with Diablo 1 and SC1. I played EQ as well, but never got too far with it; unfortunately the school I went to didn't have any one else who was playing at that time so it made it difficult for me to branch into MMOs. I remember playing massive amounts of Alpha Centauri, Counter Strike, and an old MUD named Nightmist. I used to play a lot of MUDs, and that was what I think branched me into the MMO world. Runescape, EQ, Lineage, all moved me towards WoW. I have played every expansion of WoW since Vanilla, with the majority of my time dedicated to Vanilla and the current expansion. However I feel it is just missing something. I had no problem coming off of the ESO beta wanting nothing to do with it, but after WildStar, the stalker class was just calling to me.

I love story in games, PVE is highly interesting to me. I like to learn the lore and read some of the quests as I play the game. It is probably a good thing that I am a fast reader. I am one of the co-founders of the WoW guild with Oxideous, and pretty much every free moment that isn't dedicated to work or the military, I spend gaming. Now, I love PVE, but I also need to state I love PVP too! There is something satisfying about building your personal skill up so much that when you step in a ring with someone geared closely to you, you win.

I have tried other high skill guilds in the past, some more relaxed guilds as well, never really dedicating too much to the relaxed guilds...since well, they were relaxed about it all. Because of this I find that I like structure in a guild, I like to have things planned or to help plan. I enjoy getting together with the same group of people, joking around, and just overall having a good time. I like to work with people who can give constructive criticism as well as take it, and overall want to just help the guild out so we succeed at being able to do all of the content that we all are paying for.

For WildStar I will be playing a Draken Stalker. They screamed rogue-like character to me, and that is what I tend to love to play. What really made me laugh, and also has made me contemplate archtype, is the fact that I have had a LONG LONG running joke with friends that I am a rogue tank. I often would charge into battle if I knew there was no chance for us to wipe on the trash and it was acceptable. BUT NOW, I can truly be a rogue-tank! Stalker Tanks, pre-patch, were absolutely great end game Tanks... this would be fantastic for me. Plus, if it turns out I don't actually like it, I am perfectly capable of switching and mastering a melee DPS role as well.

If you choose me for your guild, I can promise you will get a dedicated player (when I can be on) who contributes to the guild and participates in guild activities. Not to mention I will be vocal in voice, and across guild chats.

Hopefully you all choose to allow me on board, I look forward to gaming with you all.

Greetings!  Welcome to the forums!

  1. What was your raiding and PvP history in the other MMOs of your background?  If you were co-founder with Oxidious in WoW, then I'd assume you have the nearly same background but it's always nice to see variations in experience.
  2. With you being an active reservist in the military, any foreseen future absences?  Long or short term?

Aww yeah, Counter Strike.  I played that many moons ago with friends - I was always the terrorists because I liked their gun selection more.  Chrono Trigger!  I played that and FF: Tactics religiously for soooooo long.  I then had to to move onto FF6-12, though I never got around to beating 8 and/or 9 before my new puppy, at the time, ate my discs.

A few random questions!

  1. What is your favorite book(s), single release to series?
  2. Favorite Disney movie?
  3. Can you pop it, drop it and lock it (dance)?
  4. What is the most interesting gun that you've handled/fired?

Good morning, Saku!

I'm going to echo Fulg here and say that was a great introduction. I love that you have clearly defined goals for yourself and plans if it doesn't go quite right. I just woke up, so I'll mull over some questions to pose once I get some coffee. For now, I'll send the welcome message your way. When you have a few minutes, please review it.

I look forward to getting to know you.

Hey there Saku, welcome.

What game (not MMO) have you spent the most time on?  Have you played a game where you said to yourself "it's been 35 hours and I haven't done anything, I should sleep"?

What's your favorite song of the 1980's?

Hey Saku and welcome!!

Have you say you listed some awesome classic RPG's in your intro, if you had to pick one to make a sequel on the next gen consoles which would it be?  And since your a fan of storylines in games, which would you rank as your favorite of all time?

So, first off, thanks for all of the warm welcomes!

These are all awesome questions guys. I will start from the top and work my way down.

1. Raiding wise, I raided casually through Vanilla wow with groups that would LF1M through chat. I didn't start heavy raiding in WoW until the recent expansion when Oxi, Vansung, myself, and a couple others decided to put a guild together to get a group of great PVErs that were consistent playing together. I raided on and off in DDO, and Aion also. PVP I held a large Battleground role for the guild that I was with in GW2, often assisting the BG leader in planning and movement. I conducted RvR battles back in Ragnarok with the guilds that I would shoot between (which was okay for a game like that). This past season in WoW I have spent all but the past week getting max conquest and becoming decently rated in both 2v2 and 10v10.

2. Long term no. Short term, 10 days during headstart :'(. I know I will have some time away during the CCC I am going to, but I should still be connected then.

Randoms:

1. A Song of Ice and Fire, borderline obsessed...

2. Hercules

3. At times, I have been known to pop and lock, I find dropping hard on my knees thanks to rucking.

4. Mark19 was probably the best and most fun thing I have fired. As for a typical weapon system, I own a Springfield M1-A Scout that I absolutely love to take to the range.

1. The game I have spent the absolute most time on would have to be either Oblivion or Morrowind. I bought my original xbox for Morrowind and easily put a couple hundred hours (each) of solid gameplay into a few characters I had.

2. Recently, yes. As a child, I often was ripped from the system by a parent telling me I needed to do human things like photosynthesize outside, and eat lunch.

3. My favorite song from the 80's would have to be Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood. I played a crap ton of CrueBall on the Genesis as a child, and some of my fondest memories were hearing that song playing in the background.

1. If a sequel could be made for Legend of Dragoon, I would love to see it. But it really cant. I would definitely like to see it remastered, but I don't think Sony ever would.

2. As for story lines, I absolutely loved Final Fantasy VIII. It had a kickass card game too. However, the game that I think most engrossed me with its story, would be a more recent game: Heavy Rain; or, made by the same people Beyond Two Souls.

Thanks, if anyone has any more questions I'm more than happy to answer.
