MACROS:

I use almost all my abilities as macros. I read a long time ago that it assist in lag issues etc and won't glitch if there is a script...idk what it was but ever since then I have been using macros for every ability.

Timers on Demo Banner, Skull Banner, Shattering throw (and tells someone else to shatter 1.5 seconds before mine comes off CD)

Charge/HL

Shockwave/Stopattack for Heroic Kings (Stuns on Subutei)

CANCEL BOP AURA! A must sometimes.

KEY BINDS AND ABILITIES:

I use the Razer Nostromo and the Razer Naga. My abilities on my bars might show 1-10 with Alt, Ctrl and Shift. Gives me about 42 binds I can use from the Nostromo alone.

PROFESSIONS:

I am max blacksmithing for the extra sockets to gem with Crit (Crit > Str) or Mastery for Prot. I also have JC maxed for the epic gems. I was a little disappointed that we only get 2 gems this tier. I am thinking of switching to BS/Eng for the synapse springs and the Nitro boots with Glider to cloak...PRO! And synapse springs is on a 1 min CD along with most of my other CD's.

I am usually on every day after work (5pm PST). I don't usually log off until 10pm and on the weekends I am on from about 1pm - 10pm.

EXPERIENCE/GAMEPLAY

VANILLA:

MC/BWL/AQ40/Naxx - Did not actually "raid". I pugged out a few bosses in MC and BWL. I hit 60 a few months before TBC was released.

TBC:

SSC - Pugged up to Lady Vashj phase 2 3 generators down.

TK - Pugged up to Kael.

MH - we pugged up to Azgalor.

BT - pugged up to mother Sharas.

Sunwell - Didn't step into Sunwell for current content.

WotLK:

Naxx - 10Man:2 achievement's away from the Plauged Proto drake, 25Man: Not even close...

Ulduar - 25 Man: Main was DK Yogg +1

ToC - Main was my DK. Killed Heroic Anub'arak with 25+ Attempts

ICC - 11/12 Heroic (Spirits killed us in Shadowmourne.)

Cata:

BoT - 2/5 Heroic. Council got us.

BWD - Killed Heroic Nef

TofW - Didn't get H Al'Akir.

FL - Heroic Rag pre nerf using Tri-Force start.

DS - Heroic DS cleared at 10%

MoP:

MV - Seen 6/6 Heroic. Have 5/6 Kills on Heroic

HoF - Seen Blade Lord, Garalon, Wind Lord and Amber Shaper Heroic, 0 Kills. 6/6 Normal.

TotES - Have seen Tsulong and Lei Shei Heroic 0 Kills. 4/4 Normal

These were not just 1 attempt either. I have about 15-25 attempts for each boss we didn't have kills on in Heroic.

WORLD OF LOGS:

Not trying to make an excuse but I have had some lag issues lately. I mean I would hit buttons and see that action go off, but nothing has happened then I see it's been reset as if I never hit the button. You might see spike damage in the logs. I don't know if it's server lag or what. I have downloaded Leatrix and Razer Boost. It’s helped but still happens. I also close any programs running beforehand, and load directly from the file location not thru the launcher, turn down graphics, etc. Im still high on latency on this server but I don't know if that is the issue. Didn't have issues on Arthas, Baelgun or Frostwolf so I don't know what's going on.

ADDONS:

Weak Auras - for buff timers, debuffs, debuffs on boss, procs, etc.

ElvUi - for the look and it’s lightweight.

Skada - with all the extras to look over on deaths, damage done to adds if we're supposed to switch, interrupts, etc.

DBM - timers help. Like to know when I can swithc to Berserker stance, if I need to call for a dispel or anything. Great crutch.

Lets me clean up my UI and focus around myself so I can keep an eye out where shit is coming from..that whole "raid awareness" and "not standing in bad".

GUILD HISTORY

BY MOST RECENT:

<Criticism> on Area 52. My friend asked me to join so we could raid together again. I have been with them for about a month? Was playing D3 and doing some LFR for a few months prior to joining because I thought I was going to quit raiding this expansion... And of course I didn't hence the application. <Criticism> just isn’t a good fit for me now. Drama, favoritism, loot whores etc. I was told this doesn’t happen here and I am tired of it.

<Warfare> on Frostwolf. For the last year and a half I raided with these guys. I couldn't make their 4 days a week anymore at the start of MoP. I felt it was a part time job at and I didn't have the time to spend with my wife or work towards my MBA.

<Capital Vices> on Eredar for like 2 months. I was with them through DS progression. It wasn't a good fit and I had to move to California which they didn’t approve because I needed some time to get situated. I chose to leave. I took this chance to join my friends guild <Warfare> that was in need of an arms warrior.

<Crisp> on Baelgun for about 9 months through FL and DS. I was with them until I had to step down for a little bit due to school exams (was getting a C in Business Stats) and missed a couple weeks so I could catch up on schoolwork and raise my grade. I was also getting married and took off some time to enjoy the honeymoon and wedding in Hawaii.

<Backlash/Forlorn> on Arthas. This is my friends guild and I raided with them casually from T4 - T11. We were originally on Aegwynn in Backlash then transferred to Arthas and we became known as Forlorn. I grew tired of the immature assholes in that guild and the drama people had. Even the GM quit and xferred, lol.

WHY I WANT TO JOIN:

Well I feel you guys are around my current progression and I feel I could benefit and fit in with this guild. You are a few bosses ahead but I know the fights, have seen them on heroic just not killed. I want to better myself so I am looking to upgrade not downgrade with guild progression. I feel I am still lacking in gear (493 equipped) but the skill is there and I could keep up with your guildies. I also reforge/enchant correctly, upgrade the right gear and bust my ass to be better. I try to stance dance as often as I should and min/max where I can.

CLASS - WARRIOR

I have been playing a warrior since day 1. I played prot thru vanilla/TBC/Wotlk. In Cata I switched to DPS and haven't gone back. I still enjoy tanking from time to time but I love to throw up big numbers more. Warriors have been pretty solid the whole time either tanking, dps, or pvp. I don't think I can have a main as any other class. I still learn new things from time to time as well with Warriors. I am learning the timing and utility with warriors for each fight. I know when to Stance dance to increase rage generated. I know how to utilize my heroic leap either for a dps gain, movement or both (like Tsulong to leap in the beam and charge back to minimze downtime on the boss). I am always on MMO and reading up and talking with other warriors. I watch streams of warriors on Twitch (sinner, landsoul's channel, swifty, Soy, etc) to see if they see anything new especially on the PTR).

BASIC STATS:

Priority on stats weights: Hit 7.5% > Exp 7.5% > Crit > Str > Mastery >= Hit > Haste. (might change come 5.2 with buff to haste)

TALENTS:

Tier 1 I am using Double time for the movement. It comes in handy on fights I gotta get to new adds or back to the boss quickly. i.e. Sha adds, tsulong adds or getting back on boss.

Tier 2 - Second Wind. When I get low it helps to make sure I am staying alive. Helps healers out where it can. Like on heroic bladelord when running and they couldn't top us all off.

Tier 3 - helps on interrupt fights

Tier 4 - Dragon roar for our biggest dps increase. I sometimes use shockwave when needed on H Four Kings

Tier 5 - Vigilance right now for a tank cd. Safeguard doesn't work as well 20% but I use intervene

Tier 6 - Bloodbath for DPS boost.

BURST ROTATION:

5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Pot + Battle Shout

"Pull Now" Charge in

1.BT (hopefully crits and procs trinkets)

2.(Berserker Rage if BT didn't crit)/Bloodbath/(Trinket if the /use doesn't give Crit) + Dragon Roar,

3. Recklessness/Deadly Calm/ Skull banner/(Trinket if the /use gives Crit) + CS

4.(Berserker Rage if I don’t have 2 stacks of RB) + RB

5. BT

6. RB

7. RB

If neither the first BT or the first CS crit, I just skip the first RB (step 4).

HS when I can thru CS debuff.

SUB 20%:

So you want to have 120 rage when CS is up and use 4 Execute during the CS window.

Below 20%, you NEVER use WS (even during a Bloodsurge proc, may change in 5.2) or HS. I still use Heroic Throw and Dragon Roar to help pool rage of course.

We have to pay attention to Enraged Debuff. It is CRUCIAL at this point. If you have to dump rage between two CS', you want to do it while Enraged. But you save Berserker Rage for the CS. Nothing deals more damage (as a warrior) than that 4 Execute during an enraged + cs. NASTY!

PREPARATION:

Have Flask of Winter’s Bite

300 food for 60 attempts min

100 Str pots & 20 health pots (just in case)

Correct enchants, regorging, and macros set up

make sure I do my dailies for the coins

have my offspec gear with me

be on time and at the location for raid. Not flying in last second.

OUTSIDE OF WOW:

I am looking at assignments, boss quizes, research on Fatboss/Icy Veins/YouTube/MMO/EJ, reading the journals, and making sure addons are updated.

Quite the thorough app, but not much of an introduction about yourself. What would you say your best quality is, in game, outside of a raiding environment?

Also, to comment on your recent lag issues:

Are you using wireless?

Are there other people on your connection using things such as Youtube, Netflix or other streaming content?

What region are you playing from? eg. East coast, west coast, Brazil..etc

Arthas and Baelgun servers are located in Chicago and Frostwolf is located in LA while Area-52 is located in NY. Sometimes people have issues with their providers and specific locations so that might be why you have issues.

Well hello.

Ya sorry I was trying to get all essential raiding information out first and forgot to put in some personal info. lol. A little bit about me. Been married for just over a year to my Amazing wife! Working towards my MBA to hopefully open up my own shelter for Homeless Vets out in Az. Thats a few years down the road. Right now working in the Credit Dept and will be taking over the Controller position soon when I finish my degree.

I would say my best quality as a whole is interpersonal skills. I am usually easy going. I try not to let the games get to me or the people that play them. At the office and deal with a lot of people screaming and yelling and act like it's all my fault because they don't pay their bills. Gotta just let that stuff roll off your shoulders and not take it personal. Everyone tells me I handle it well every time i get one of those "crazy fuckers". I think it's fun personally, lol. A challenge to get them to like me at the end of the converstaion. Im at about a 80% success rate I think, lol. In game I would say my best qualitiy is Situational Awareness. I can avoid bad and almost always do. I do get complacent or when I die to dumb shit (as you can see on logs) it's most likely due to a wipe and I'm trying to wipe quickly.

Lag issues:

No, not on wireless...Would never be. lol. My wfie does play WoW too sometimes while I am online but it's just about the same when she's not so I don't know what could be interfering.

There isn't anyone else on my connection...unless they are hacking it somehow

Im on the West Coast. But I haven't had any issues before to Chicago/Ny until Area52

I know one guy in guild thinks it could be just server lag but I don't know if that's it. Could be since it has been here.

Thanks for putting in a really thorough application. I haven't been able to go through all the details yet.

I'm concerned about the lag - in a 25m anyone with any kind of regular connection problems can be a really difficult thing to accomodate. Maybe you should make a server alt on stormreaver and show us your latency / let us know if you are experiencing similar lag here.

Also, to be candid I am not sure I can take an additional DPS warrior at this time. One of our warriors might need to step down from raiding due to some job changes, but we still don't know if that's the case. Not sure what your time frame is or how best to proceed right now.

The lag shouldn't be an issue. I have created a toon (RobBurgundy) and it seems fine. Im sitting at around 70ms. I was talking to a couple people in guild and they feel it's definitely server lag...Well that's what they say. I was on Arthas during peak hours and didn't have this issue (still have 85's over there). They only had about 10k people on it at the time.

About taking another Fury Warrior. I saw it was "low" on WoWProgress. I thought that meant there is still a position available if the applicant can present his/herself as a viable asset to the guild. I would prefer sooner than later but with your raid schedule and progression, I am willing to wait longer if needed. Just please keep me informed on the situation.

Have heroic leap glyph, but rarely use heroic leap, usually accounts for a decent amount of damage for free and off GCD, thoughts?

@ Ashin Waiting wouldn't be an issue but making my DK a main is not going to work for me. I would like to say I would make the DK my main but I love playing my warrior too much. I am gearing the DK for class stacking/utility on fights if it was ever needed, but making it my main wouldn't make this game as fun for me. He's my alt and I would prefer to keep him that way. This guild sounds perfect for me but I would be bored with the DK in a few months (I have been down this road before and I got bored. he was my main through T8 & T9).

@Staticaddict I try and use my HL when I can but inside a CS when enraged with CD's as much as possible. With the slight timing difference I do delay a HL. With a 6 sec window and 20 sec CD on CS I probably HL a few times less per fight. But I read at the beginning of the expansion to try and get it into a CS + Enrage (i even save my Beserker Rage for a CS). It was my understanding that the damage increase was more than just using HL on CD...I might need to look at it again. It made sense at the time so I have just stuck with that. I also save HL for movement utility on some other fights tho. But you are right that it does account for a good amount of additional damage off the GCD.

Thanks for the honest answer. I can respect where you're coming from, it's just not something that is easy for me to work with at this time. This expansion is full of warriors druids and warlocks!

The best I can suggest for now is to keep in touch with each other, and hopefully in another week or two I will have more clarity about whether I can take a DPS warrior or not. In the meantime I have given you Guest access, have a looksee and make yourself at home.
