  1. Well deserved. Congratulations space bro.
  2. Welcome Frank! Ashin makes a good point and many of us have needed time away for other commitments. Best of luck with the new baby.
  3. I leave all the behind the scenes stuff to the experts, so I just wanted to say that I enjoy reading your posts. They are well-written and informative. You've also brought along a couple of good seeming dudes with you. I won't ask about culture of previous corps due to the off-record nature, but I do hope you'll find enjoyment in our mature and friendly culture. Sure, we still shoot people and we have fun doing it, but it is done with a minimum of spite and lots of sportsmanship. I've always liked how SOHCO goes for the good fights not the easy ones. I'm looking forward to you being a part of that. See you in space.
  4. Welcome! I'm sure you are just as cool as Thor, even if quieter. A few questions - Heavy metal...welder...coincidence? favorite taco? favorite fleet beverage?
  5. Here's a run down of alliance philosophy: http://bladesofgrass.space/philosophy.html Corp is ran much the same - mature adults with common goals and teamwork. We have fun but not generally at the expense of others. We don't rage on comms or talk smack in local. That said, it's a great group of folks. That said, as with any group sometimes personal favorites take a back burner to needs. Want to fly the chimera? Sorry alliance says to fly revs (an example not necessarily the case) or perhaps it will be a bunch of armor ships when you prefer and are skilled into shields. You don't seem like the kind of guy to rage quit over small things but it can be an adjustment . As for following your mentor, I think Ashin raises a good point. My first several years in Eve were following a group of friends and often where we went was not my cup of tea but I sacrificed what I like to hang with my eve buddies. It wasn't until we went our separate ways that I really began to appreciate the game (and met other awesome folks). I'm biased and think SOHCO is great but come because you want to not because a mentor headed our way. Anyway, you seem like good people so I look forward to flying with you my wall of text aside
  6. Dude. This is a great question. Hi Thor! It sounds like you've been jumping in head first. That's very nice to see. Excellent intro post. I just have one question because while some think with their heads I think with my belly - favorite taco?
  7. It does seem that way. Caution Florida man is coming.
  8. Indeed you did, and it was a fun fleet. I'm just going to start broadcasting for reps when I undock since I can't seem to keep an osprey alive And Plyn, great answers. I think we'll get along great at least when it comes to drinks and food.
  9. Well, that is one impressively thorough intro. Bravo/brava. A few questions: Favorite fleet beverage? Favorite taco? Your FC warps your fleet right on top of an arty cane fleet, you notice they all start locking up your osprey. How do you react when over comms you hear Oshri say, 'thank Bob it's not me this time!'?
  10. Greetings Mr. Tickler or do you prefer Fist? a few questions: 1. You are relatively new to Eve, but do you have a favorite ship to fly? 2. Which fleet role do you think you would enjoy most? - DPS, Logi, Scout, EWAR etc. 3. Favorite taco?
  11. Dude, I'm hiring you to be my travel agent.
  12. Thanks for the replies. I'm glad your family dog is friendly and lovable even if it's not your first choice of breed. My dog was my first choice of breed and he's a weasel. He's unfriendly, standoffish, and is only interested in food. In other words, he takes after his owner I love me some Scimitars. Do you have all 4 logi cruisers trained? Ah, now you are talking my language. Food trucks are the bomb, and steak tacos are amazing. You sir/madam, are alright in my book.
  13. Welcome! It's good to see you on the forums. Our comms are actually very friendly, but it never hurts to have more logi bros. A few questions: 1. What type of dog? 2. Favorite logi ship to fly? 3. Favorite taco?
  14. Woot! Woot! Congratulations Simone!
  15. I'd suggest giving it a try. It helped me immensely. You'll find if you come out to null in a focused group like ours that there are several doctrines all requiring certain ships and skill plans. Getting prepared early can save you a headache (and ISK) later. Any idea what fleet role you'd like to pursue - scout, logi, mainline dps?
  16. That's the life. Too bad we can't all be iguanas sometimes. I noticed earlier that you said you don't always like to plan ahead, sadly, Eve is a game where planning can be very important. for example, I'm out about a billion ISK to poor planning with injecting skill books. Have you played around with Evemon or similar programs to come up with a long term skill plan?
  17. Thank you very much. You guys are the best.
  18. It was good talking to you earlier in game, even if it was only for a short while. It sounds like your rats are quite industrious. How big is Clover at the moment? I've had several reptiles but all smaller than iguanas, which I understand get pretty large. Does she roam the house or stay in an enclosure?
  19. Female iguanas have pink bows on their heads. It's almost like you never read children's books.
  20. Welcome! A few questions 1. Many of us are of more advanced years (okay, I'm old) how do you feel you would fit in with a more seasoned group of gamers? 2. Are rats as smart as people say they are and have yours shown any aptitude in the kitchen? 3. What is are your short and long term Eve goals (I want to fly X ship or I'd like to fulfill Y role or whatever)
  21. It was good talking to you in game last night. Did you get any more kills?
  22. Oh, you and I are going to get along great. The week here starts with Early Taco Tuesday (Monday), Taco Tuesday, and Late Taco Tuesday (or Wednesday for the rest of the world). Saturday is what I like to call Weekend Taco Tuesday. So... 1. Flour or corn tortillas? 2. Favorite taco meat? 3. Favorite non-meat taco?
  23. Dude, that bike is great. Ron Swanson and Nic Cage stickers on it? I'd ride that any day....well, until one of the idiots around here ran me over.
