She was 16 years old and had diabetes. Add to that her person being gone, new people taking care of her, and a lot of extra noise. I think just the amount of changes, along with her age and illness, finally overwhelmed her and she couldn't cope anymore. She actually belonged to the aunt of a friend, and for various reasons Mork and I were taking care of her.

My little problem solver, aka Bunny, has figured out how to take down the baby gate I have up to keep her out of my bedroom. Joy.
